Really useful hub for our trip, with the K-Mart, decent restaurant range, clothing shops that have useful items for your excursions. - jungleboy_rayanEdinburgh, UK139 contributionsA must for couples. We really were very impressed with the apartment, all basic mod cons are there. Good beds. You may want to bring an additional pillow. We stayed in "V" which has stairs, so beware of that. Good Chinese around the corner.

After visiting Santa, went to Hesburger to eat, 2nd level and the kids love it since there was also an indoor play area . This shopping mall has movie theatres , a pharmacy, a big parking area, clean new toilets, coffee shop, dental clinics , souvenir shops and much more . - Janka KBrno, Czech Republic8,697 contributionsMaybe it was because of visiting Santa Claus Village during May when if was very much out of the season, but this place is the most interesting one in the whole park for me, meaning that you can still do something here even in summer.
You can send a Christmas postcard to your friends the whole year, including sending the postcard that will be delivered during the next Christmas. Or you can pay 8 Euro and send a letter from Santa to you or someone that you know, in a language that you choose from the offered ones.

Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Sarah MStewartsville, NJ11 contributionsWe booked this hoping it might be a mildly interesting way to spend a couple of hours, since we had free time - but our time with Irene and Ari turned out to be the highlight of the entire trip to Finland! We loved seeing the Northern Lights, and dogsledding, and our stay (at Apukka Resort) - but truly, this is the experience I have the most photos of, have told the most stories about, and would most encourage people to seek out. I know that sounds over-the-top, but it's the simple truth.
You learn so much from the most delightful and charming hosts - who don't brag about it, but whom you come to realize are truly recognized artists, not just folksy crafters. They give a fascinating window into what life was like for the Sami people, and what it's like even today - the wisdom behind the traditional artisan work, and how and why they are keeping it alive.
Our group was six adults, and we hung on every word in the different rooms of their workshop, and all had such fun trying our own hand at a craft - even the least artistically inclined among us. Then, Irene and Ari brought us next door into their beautifully cozy home and treated us to drinks and snacks. We all felt entirely welcome and like a group of longtime friends, not strangers on an excursion.
From seniors to adults to children, this is my top recommendation for Rovaniemi. We were lucky to have chosen Scandi Classics to arrange all the tours, cruise and safari for us. All activities and arrangement were on schedule as planned. We were also happy that all details listed in their website materialise and they didn't miss anything. All their arrangements, appointments and pick-ups were punctual and they really make sure we get whatever were specified and promised in their website. We also extended our stay in Helsinki with Scandic Classics from 23 to 26 Dec. We indeed had a very enjoyable and memorable vacation in Finland Lapland. We were happy that Scandi Classics made it possible for us, 5. The idea of a handicraft workshop and knitting is a very new and fresh idea in Rovaniemi. She organizes different kind of workshops where you can actually make your beanies and neck warmers from a very high-quality materials. You can tell by her experience with customers and how she handles the guiding etc, that she is a pro in her business.
