Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Finnish Evangelical Lutheran church was completed in 1902.

The church with Neo-Gothic influence was designed by the architect Josef Stenbäck. The Gothic influence is shown especially in the windows and the tower.

The church was closed on our visit and we couldn't see the interior.

The pool overlooks the sea and Sweden is visiible-the setting is sublime. We visited end december 20/early january 21-having visited in many past years.Sauna, main pool, smaller pool and jacuzzi type pool plus small toddlerpool.
One tip-many local school classes etc-go early or later.Remember certain sauna traditions apply.
Kemi without this unique pool would not be Kemi.(Covid has shown me 2 things I really do miss in life Kemi uimahalli is one of them).

A bit touristy but if you are in the area or planning to do a icebreaker trip then it is a good distraction time filler. The ice slide is worth a go but the rest a bit boring

This northernmost permanent comic book exhibition in the world can be found at Kemi Cultural Center.

In this quite small exhibition space, you can explore a joyful collection of cartoons and their characters. You will be enchanted by childhood memories.

The entrance is free. Next to this museum, you can find also Kemi Art Museum and Kemi Historical Museum.

This cultural history museum is located in Kemi's Cultural Center, where Kemi Art Museum also operates on the same premises.

The art museum was closed for the exhibition change on our visit but luckily this museum was open and we could spend some time before our evening flight.

The museum is not huge but suitable in size. It offers visitors an interesting journey into the history of Kemi and its surroundings.

    The entrance is free.

This sculpture of a male capercaillie is located at the end of Meripuistokatu Boulevard, near the swimming hall.

The striking-looking steel sculpture was designed in 1982 by Helsinki-based sculptor Aimo Taleva.

This tour on an old icebreaker is very interesting. The journey to the Gulf of Bothnia area is not that long, so you can take advantage of the time to watch from the outside (the temperature was -10 ºC) the ship moving over the magnificent frozen Baltic and take several pictures and videos. Inside the ship the environment is heated and there are two bars. During the journey, passengers can take a guided tour of the main points of the ship, such as the engine room, the communications room and the bridge. The highlight is when the ship stops, when we can get off and take a walk over the frozen sea: a magnificent feeling. Those who wish can also dive into the almost fresh water of the Baltic, wearing special rubber suits provided. Everything well organized and safe. Great tour!

This was my favourite part of the trip! The hosts are amazing people and they really care for the dogs it’s beautiful to see them work together. I loved that we had time to fuss the dogs after and we also stayed for handmade Italian pizza after! Must not miss a visit during your trip!
