Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- chocolate123Switzerland191 contributionsAbsolutely amazing. Bring lots of time it is so much worth it. Take the weather into account as there is an outdoor section. However even if you do not want to go outdoors it is more than worth it.
Lots of Touchscreeens in six different languages giving you heaps of information. I loved the beautiful photos of the eight seasons. Or the possibility to listen to various songs or the sound of native birds.
If you struggle with standing any length af time there are folding chairs at the beginning you can borrow.
The only criticism is the information screens about the development of the forest. It runs continuously through all six languages, i.e. if you only know one of them you wait a very long time.
It would be nice if this could be interrupted and the language be chosen.
It is worth while to come to Inari just because of this museum!
If you are several days in Inari you might want to consider the annual ticket which is only double the normal entry price. There is so much to discover you might want to go back.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our hosts were delightful and one of the handmade traditional crafts that they sell is one of my favorite souvenirs of my trip!Written 11 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very dark at night, makes an ideal base for a stargazing. Has flat beaches where you can drive on to avoid lumeWritten 17 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We also learned about the handicrafts. We were very excited about going, and left with our expectations being blown away. Could not love this more!! Highly recommend!Written 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- travelbugDelhiNew Delhi, India787 contributionsThere are lots of people who just visit Rovaneimi & SCV without venturing further inland. Inari is a good 4/5 hours drive through heavy snow, frozen lakes, white & green forests with tiny trails begging to be explored, huge snowbanks transforming Lapland into magical winterland ! There are a host of winter activities, the draw of NLs & the frozen stunning Lake inari.Written 17 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DadandCabCoffs Harbour, Australia1,274 contributionsThere is some excellent craftwork in here along with materials to make your own pieces.
Unlike some Duodji I have seen that mostly focus on jewellery or knives, in addition to these there is also a lot of clothing in here, baby shoes, caps, belts, ties etc. There are also some smaller, more accessible pieces, simpler, smaller jewellery pieces and key rings for example.
The staff were informative and helpful and pointed out that the receipt also includes the name of the maker for the items purchased. A great connection to the piece. Highly recommended.Written 6 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tuomas & Elisa are fantastic hosts, and obviously take great care of them, you can tell they are very loved. The route is beautiful & really fun and it was great that we each got to take a turn driving/riding in the sledge. We also loved getting to spend time playing with the dogs afterwards, while learning more about their personalities and what it takes to run the farm. If you are in the Inari area you should DEFINITELY make a visit, you'll be so happy you did!Written 28 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ji-Soo Kim9 contributionsThis was one of the highlights of our trip in Lapland! Petri took us to the forest with his snowmobile where we found hundreds of reindeers waiting hor us! We got to feed them, observe them, and hear everything about them from Petri who responded all our questions with accuracy and enthusiasm. We also got to rest around a fire pit with hot coffee/tea and cinnamon buns. It was also great to learn more about the Sami language and culture and to visit the small shop (where we bought a fantastic reindeer hide). We highly recommend it!Written 28 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sara GWashington DC, DC50 contributionsRaisa is an amazing host. We loved meeting the reindeer (she’ll nurse sick ones in her yard) and she told us the stories about many of her favorites. Her farm is located outside Inari on a private road (we saw some wild ones on the way), but you meet at her house. She’ll show you how to feed the reindeer and then you return to her home for snacks.
The most unique part was her showing the Sami clothing she made for her family (many reindeer related) and she showed us a book on Sami culture and clothing and pointed out which models were her family members. Visiting her was a highlight of Finland.
She only takes small groups and it felt like visiting the home of a friend more than a tour. She also has a small craft shop (which will get bigger once her new building is finished). Thanks, Raisa!Written 28 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was one of the best experiences of our holiday. Listening to Anne’s stories about the life of a Sami family while walking in the beautiful forest is very special and makes you feel humble. It’s almost magical to hear that there is a group of people in Europe who still live so close to nature. She makes everyone feel welcome too. Takka Innuv Anne, also to the dogs and your beautiful reindeers :)Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
