Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mikkeli Cathedral was built in 1896–1897 in the Gothic Revival style. The bell tower is very high.

The interior is also strikingly beautiful. The big organ was built in 1956 by Kangasala Organ Factory. The altar painting "Crucified" was made by a known Finnish painter Pekka Halonen in 1899.

One of great persons in the history of Finland. Commander of army, president, explorer, power figure. Army headquarters have been located in Mikkeli for ages so there is an extra meaning for him in Mikkeli.

It looks like a forest from a fairytale. Sometimes it's a bit dangerous to ascend or descend, if you have little kids I think. You have a long and a shorter tour to walk.

This 27-meter-high tower is located on the top of the hill.

Paying the 2-euro fee you can climb the stairs to the viewing platform to have 360-degree views over Mikkeli.

There is a charming cafe at the foot of the tower.

This church was designed by the Italy-born architect Charles Bassi. The 1817-completed church is one of the largest wooden churches in Finland. It has two crosses on the floor plan.

This one of the biggest scouldrons or devil´s churns in Finland. It has been formed by water whirling through the thick melting glazier at the last era of the Ice Age. It is 8 meters deep if I remember correctly. Absolutely worth visiting!

This Mikkeli's museum of cultural history exhibits the history of Mikkeli and its region.

The museum is located in a stone building completed in 1848.

The museum's permanent exhibition presents the peasant culture of South Savo, as well as the history of the city of Mikkeli.

This place provides wide range of sport activitites - from climbing and gym to kids Super Corner (activity area). Every time we’ve visited this place, mainly for climbing, the service has been excellent. Our kids have really enjoyed climbing here! They also have a nice cafeteria where you can buy snacks. The sandwiches we had were fresh and healthy. Definitely worth visiting!
