We walked the entire island but got lost on one of the detours and then the main museum opened 1/2 hour later than what was posted on the website? Enjoyed the history lesson and the physical activity. Ferry was short and easy to use once we tried two machines to purchase a ticket. I think the walk here was a bit longer than I envisioned along the harbor.

Apart from the museum being boiling hot inside, it was a lovely visit.
Nice exhibitions and easy to walk through at a pace.
The gift shop is also pretty nice.

This is a very nice, fun-packed themed park near Rovaniemi, with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and Christmas attractions. Really nice place, although I find it quite expensive, I must say.

The actual Father Christmas was really believable, looked the part and the accent definitely added to the magic.
But the experience as a whole was disappointing- the waiting area was quite small and could have been a lot more magical - just a few little extras would have gone a long way - we arrived at 10.30 and still had a good 40min wait. There wasn’t even a door blocking the queue from the Santa clause room just a rope so the kids could see what was happening. I think if I was to do it again I’d try booking one of the Santa tours into the forest.

Uphill walk to the tower through the city . Great views of Tampere from the observation area! There is an elevator as well as stairs to the top. Cute little cafe & restrooms on the bottom floor.
We hiked back through the beautiful park which borders a lake. Fun day! Highly recommend!!

This castle provides a glimpse of history from the late 13th century and all the way up to current day. Partially, it is well told, through e.g. illustrative models that trace the centuries of construction. But interpretation could be much improved. The wider geopolitical context could be summarized in a succinct timeline somewhere. The text displays could be lifted from the 2-feet level and given proper light. Poor lighting in some passages is also a hazard.

There are lots of empty rooms that one can pass through quickly while briefly noting how they were once used. But there is also a section with an impressive collection of artifacts.

The cave was fun but very much designed for families with young children. The ice cave and vodka shots were great.

Great center with several museums, such as game museum, postal museum, and several special exhibitions. Proper on-site restaurant. Grocery shops can be found nearby. Highly recommend the game museum where you can try many classic or new games. This center is a must-visit for anyone in Tampere.

Surprising, totally unexpected wall ans ceiling paintings that even young children can appreciate. Nice light inside,
Toilets in the basement are also a good surprise!

I hadnt skied for 20 years and was a bit apprehensive. However from the rental shop to the lift passes, the uplift, the pistes and the great cafes it was brilliant. Excellent quaility skis and boots. The t bar tows, which I remembered from at home could take the legs from under you, were smooth and easy. Sadly it was too windy for the gondola so can’t comment. Even better no massive queues and no jostling for places! Beautifully groomed pistes and excellent cafes for a much needed hot chocolate and a “Munkii”. (Wrong spelling but a delicious enormous doughring). Highly recommend, great for families. We were with a Finnish family who were introducing their tinies to downhill skiing and it was perfect.

It was an amazing experience in Lapland that one not to be missed. We were trained with video tutorials and given special shoes, helmets, suits, gloves and many other accessories. The cart car has 13 H/P engine and can speed up to 60km/h. It has a speed and safety monitor and the side of the tracks are made of 2 feet tall tick snow wall. So safety is promised.
The race was between the four of us. The sensors fitted on both sides of the track mark the laps covered and time taken accurately. After 3 or 4 rounds, we got the hang of it. . It was getting dark soon, so first we posed for some photos then move to the race. The first lap was very difficult. But we learned the technique very fast. Drifting through the ice is very tricky and lots of fun. Also a few times we crashed each other and hit on the snow wall.
Its a must-do activity on your arctic circle trip

amazing architecture! You can walk then to the nearby chapel of silence. The entrance fee was 5 euros, and we spent about 10 minutes inside.

Easy to reach forest park from Espoo. Lovely walking trails, plenty to see and do. Beautiful lake with grills which we took advantage of. Beautifully maintained and very clean. Lots of room so we didn't felt as it was crowded. Would be amazing with the snow in the winter season.

Me? A bit less since the kids refused to leave, they thought it was that nice, so I had to stay there for 2 hours longer than planned. But since playgrounds ARE for kids mainly, I guess that is actually a good sign?

Lot's of sights to see from the beach. I saw a guy fishing there when walking by. There's also a place to throw away cremation ashes.
