Lewis our instructor was super friendly and suggested we upgrade from the quads to the buggies and it was definitely the correct choice. The buggies can drive through potholes, rough terrain, up hills, through the mud and go pretty fast which adds to the adventure and excitement! Initially booked for one day, but it would have been just me, so they messaged and asked if it was ok to move day. A bit more notice would have been nice, but it's completely understandable.
The place wasn't the easiest to find, but I was immediately welcomed by our guide for the day - Adriano. He was great throughout.
The quads were fully automatic so no need to worry about gears (on top of driving on the other side of the road) which was nice. We took these on a mix of public roads and off road tracks and stopped at the castle with great views.

It was excellent, weather was terrible which made the experience all the more fun. It rained heavy, and the buggy’s got wet and Micky making the experience very enjoyable if you like a bit of adventure, and you have absence of fun. Carlos was our tour guide and he was excellent, very friendly and informative. We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip and my son in particular was in his element, hills, gravel and clay tracks made for the perfect adventure for a young boy! Everything was well explained and the tour was filled with beautiful landscapes of the Portuguese lands with a stop in a historical castle. The pace was perfect and I think suits everyone. - Jake RussellSwindon, UK29 contributionsThe off road buggy tour was so much fun and showed us so many beautiful parts of The Algarve that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to see.
We started off with a stop at Castelo de Paderne, which is only open for visiting on Wednesday mornings, so we timed our buggy trip perfectly! The views were incredible, and totally different to the tourist beaches we were used to.
The next stop was described by our tour guide as ”The Middle of Nowhere”, and it really felt like it was! It was so peaceful and quiet with some beautiful views.
The tour then took us around a dirt track circuit, which was lots of fun for getting the back-end of the buggy sliding around the corners! We then headed to the picturesque town of Paderne, where we stopped for a longer break before heading back.
