Don’t have a boat. However I really like to walk around and look at them and feel the atmosphere. This day was extremely hot and our first visit to Bogense. This Marina is huge! Take a tour!

During stays in Bogense we always passes by theis small guy, just to se if he is OK :-)
Don't expect anything, just enjoy the statue and take a small break on the benches.

    Fantastic!

From when you drive up to the castle, you immediately feel the history. Yes, some great attention outside, would do the place good. The same goes for the park and yard.

We had the south wing apartment, and it fully met the expectations and some of the reviews on Booking.com.

Authentic! And the 3/4 bed is very comfortable! Fully equipped kitchen!

Great 4 nights and the day before leaving, we took the indoor tour of the Castle. Absolutely stunning. Yes, you can get to see Egeskov Museum and Castle. I just find that place to polished. This is authentic!

We cooked our breakfast ourselves, and enjoyed the silence in front of the Castle. But not alone.. one of the Peacook’s joined us, and expected to be hand feed.

All in all- great experience that I can recommend. Just make sure what you expect!

    Saint Nicholas Church.
The church stands at the end of the market place surrounded by old quaint houses and overlooking the sea and a camping site.
The church wa built in 1406 on top of older church ruins. In the mid 15th century additions were made, including the tower which unusually is at the east end of the church. The church is so close to the rocky coast that the grounds west of the church are unfit for building on. The tall spire served as a landmark for shipping. In 2010 comprehensive restorationworks were completed.
The church is beautiful and light. And it has, as most Danish churches, a ship hanging from the ceiling. This is a symbol of the travels from earth to the heavens. It is not a votive gift in Danish churches.
The grounds are well kept and the view towards the sea are also beautiful.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We walked from Bogense town along the coastal path(on the dike) to see the mill. A beautiful walk, beautiful vistas and birdlife. You can only see the mill from outside as it stands on private land. There is a sister mill, "Langø Mølle" at the other side of the water - at Gyldensteen Strand. This one you can visit. And at Langø Mill you can walk all the way up to the top to look out on the area. Well worth it. The cap on Langø Mølle was transferred to Stego Mølle in the renovation. Both mills were used to keep the water out when the dike was further out. At Stego M. you can also see the remains of the Archemides' schrew that were used to keep the water out.

I love the Danish Churches. I go into every one that I have the opportunity to visit. I was born in Denmark and have my Mother's love of these lovely churches.
