Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is just awesome in the night with all the Christmas lights. Give you a real good feeling for the winter holidays

    Beautiful, colourful and lively.
Great to enjoy via the many boat rides or just walking around. Lots of restaurants and cafes with outside seating areas to enjoy the water

Another big and beautiful vintage canal house. You have beautiful living room on the upper floor as well as big and lovely garden in which you can sit. Perfect for fans of vintage.

I was confused- Rembrandt's statue was there ,but where were the Nightwatchmen statues?
They are now gone. A little disappointing, but Rembrandt's statue is still nice, and wandering anywhere in Amsterdam is worthwhile anyway. :)

Really beautiful and well kept house, I enjoyed the visit very much. There was an information booklet and information on specific pieces in the rooms, I do feel an audio guide or some such thing would’ve been good, but I still learnt things from my visit. Glad that the current owners of the house do not gloss over their family’s problematic history, the display case on slavery was fascinating

I dont really understand why this church isnt that famous among the attractions of the city - its extremely beautiful inside, the decoration the engraving the colours..There was a feeling of tranquility, it felt really good..We are Muslims so it was clear we didnt come to pray but the priest was very welcoming. A woman asked us not to sit on the chairs because a prayer (or something like that) was about to start but another kind man insisted that we do and gave us candles to hold..A very underrated place, I think its for this reason that entrance is free, which surprised me at the time but made me feel lucky!

A quite delightful exhibition of Bill Brandt’s work Covers one floor - scenes from London, famous people, working class and the aristocracy. It’s magnificent. The rest of the museum is not unpleasant but is a little uninspiring. Go for the Brandt - sensational.

Very overpriced and felt a little disappointed at the attractions in this museum. Overall the museum took 10 mins to walk through, 3 rooms to go through with alot of posters and small facts dotted around the place, nothing too impressive.
There were two cat residents in the museum, one being a very friendly she-cat who made the experience all worth it (she likes back rubs alot) and a little shy white one. They ran to private backrooms you can't access so this museum could very well be useless without the cat mascots so I'd prepare for the lack you are about to see here.
Top floor was closed off and the garden is closed in November due to "bad weather". If this place turned into a cat cafe with hot drinks/tables and seats and more kitties around, I swear to god it would be a hot spot!!

I salute organization of such event in covid times as it gives you incentive to move around AMS enjoying art and fresh air.
On the huge minus side it is a shame that exhibits are not supported with chemical public toilets as there is a long route (6,5 km) on low temperatures, and mind you all
other hospitality outlets are closed so situation might get desperate.

This was a wonderful surprise and I highly recommend it. I only learned about it from the booklet which came with my Amsterdam Card. It is a fascinating Art Deco-styled building (DeBazel) which contains various items from the City's history. Old photographs, old sheet music, maps, and other documents - as well as posters, cartoons, and other interesting items. City history films are also shown. If you have an Amsterdam Card (and even if you do not) I recommend this (apparently) little-known place to visit and enjoy. It is easy to find (the building is huge) but I'd call it "off the beaten path" as it does not seem to be on most tourists' "must see" lists.

I guess we saw it. When you're looking from the street view it's hard to catch all the bridges. My partner was willing to hop into the canal to snap a photo but my camera isn't waterproof. We will look again once we purchase a waterproof camera.

I was part of an art history seminar back in the 1990s. Incredible. Also incredible was our scheduled visit to the Six collection. I studied the Jan Six portrait, wrote about it and always wanted to see it. It is magnificent. We were so fortunate to have been guided through the open part of the house by Jan Six X. He was delightful and very, very witty. At the end he gave each of us a poster of the Jan Six portrait which I treasure to this day. It is framed and has a special place in my house. I was so grateful to have had this experience. In fact, the whole month= long seminar was such a memorable experience. I met so many important art historians, including members of the Rembrandt Research Team. If one can do it, I would definitely try to visit the Jan Six Collection.

Thank you two special People; to invite us in your warm embracing/innercirkle …with Picasso

Smack bang in the middle of this square is the Rembrandt statue. It's pretty impressive and hard not to miss. The detailing on the soldiers are pretty good and pretty much life size.
