Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful collection! Lots of space to sit and contemplate or go through quickly. I recommend getting the audio guide if you want to hear more about some of the pieces. You can also take guided tours where a docent shares more about specific pieces. These tend to get a bit crowded and fill up areas leaving people who want to self-pace not much room to view the pieces they are discussing.

An excellent museum showing many of Van Goghs works and giving his life story. We walked round at our own pace with headphones giving us the information.

My group really enjoyed our visit to the museum. It had some unique and interesting pieces of art you wouldn't see anywhere else. Only spent around an hour in there so it's a nice little thing to do if you're short on time in Amsterdam. We took lots of nice photographs for our instagrams and overall was worth the visit.

This was amazing! The audio guide was good, and the details about Rembrandt were very interesting.
The house itself is worth the visit too- it feels very authentic, and though it states that it's not filled with actual Rembrandt articles, it doesn't make it feel fake.
The entry fee is a little high compared to other places, but I really loved it, and am happy to have been.

I don’t want to post a lot of pictures of exhibition, you should check yourself. But I will say that cafe is 2.5/5, very expensive and not very delicious.

We walked over because entrance to the Van Gogh museum was sold out for the following 2 days. So glad we did. A very nice collection. The first floor exhibition, SEDJE HÉMON / IMRAN MIR / ABDIAS NASCIMENTO- ABSTRACTING PARABLES was terrific and informative.

Others had commented about parts of the museum being closed, but it all seems open now. Definitely with a visit.

Another big and beautiful vintage canal house. You have beautiful living room on the upper floor as well as big and lovely garden in which you can sit. Perfect for fans of vintage.

Really enjoyed this experience and you can take some great pictures. Was a little busy at times though and felt very crowded but overall would recommend.

Even the inhabitants of Amsterdam themselves can learn from the displays in this museum and the audio-visual tour provided. The history of the canals, and especially the three added in the 17th century, the Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht, is fascinating and reveals much about the city. Highly recommended!

Silly bit of fun that’s iconic when visiting. It’s reasonably priced and we spent an hour looking over the artefacts and information. Some bits are a little dated but it’s just fun! Have a giggle!

A quite delightful exhibition of Bill Brandt’s work Covers one floor - scenes from London, famous people, working class and the aristocracy. It’s magnificent. The rest of the museum is not unpleasant but is a little uninspiring. Go for the Brandt - sensational.

This museum or rather impressive house is worth the visit. The tour takes you through the house which have incredible different art pieces. It is truely unique. The bible collection is at the top floor, really worth the visit. You need about 2 hours. A tea garden is located at the back.

There some periodical expositions there that are really interesting, although the museum is not so big.

I was part of an art history seminar back in the 1990s. Incredible. Also incredible was our scheduled visit to the Six collection. I studied the Jan Six portrait, wrote about it and always wanted to see it. It is magnificent. We were so fortunate to have been guided through the open part of the house by Jan Six X. He was delightful and very, very witty. At the end he gave each of us a poster of the Jan Six portrait which I treasure to this day. It is framed and has a special place in my house. I was so grateful to have had this experience. In fact, the whole month= long seminar was such a memorable experience. I met so many important art historians, including members of the Rembrandt Research Team. If one can do it, I would definitely try to visit the Jan Six Collection.
