We were shown around this beautifully restored palazzo by la Contessa Federico herself. She gave a lot of her time and was very open about what it was like to live her life. Fascinating.

This is really a gem! Take the opportunity to visit this place before the sunset and enjoy the view and its colours. Because the restaurant, it's possible to have lunch or aperitivo sitting in front of it. Absolutely recommended for couples, friends or families. Usually it's really windy, so just be careful in case of small children.

Visited today 8th November. Still some flamingos (six) close enough to view without binoculars. We read the mirror scamming from previous reviews so were prepared when someone pulled out of the car park and stopped before the first bend. As we passed “thud” then followed by gesticulating bearded driver. This scam is certainly continuing and thanks to previous reviewrs for warning us. Otherwise the area seems very safe

When you visit a world famous place like this you wait a capable staff, sadly it wasn't like that. We had a tiny guide that learned some lines trying to speak in english but was really hard to understand what she was saying. I want to think that was an unfortunate day even because the red group had a better experience.
The place itself is amazing, so quiet and peaceful. Walking around the salt pans I made a thousands pictures with amazing colours even if is fall.

We went in october. The view at the top is amazing, but the pools are even better.
The gate was still closed, but the office next to it was open and the lady provided us with a map. We climbed over the gate and started or hike downwards.
Wear good walking shows! It is a difficult hike with a lot of rocks. It took us 40 minutes to go downwards and an hour to go back up with breaks (we are 27/25 years old and quite healthy).
But the Pools downstairs are worth it. You can jump from the cliffs into the water and enjoy nature! The water is cold, but you need that coolness for the way back up.
Bring enough water to drink for the way back up.

You can park at "parking - riserva cavagrande del cassible".

WATCH OUT, FRAUDS ARE STILL ACTIVE. When we drove back, just around the corner there was a car standing still and someone was standing outside. My boyfriend went with a big amount of space around it, but we heard a sound like we hit a rock. When I looked back I noticed that the man was signing that we hit his car (don't know how when the space between our cars was more than 1 meter), then I luckily remembered the other TripAdvisor reviews, so we didn't stop. Thanks TripAdvisor!

We enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch at this beach-side venue.

Friendly, couteous staff eager to ensure we were well attended to. Good range of reasonably priced drinks, serving everything from teas, coffees, hot chocolate to beers, liqueurs and spirits at good prices. Standard lunch menu with prices generally 1/2 € less per item (food) then other local venues. The burger I had with fries was very nicely cooked in a soft, fresh bap which was agenerous size. Good relaxing venue with efficient staff. Bit of a wait to pay the bill (different venues have different systems such as bringing bills to tables, others where you pay at till, others do both) but otherwise very good all round.

Well if you are in the area I do advise to have a wonder around this garden. It has a particular atmosphere, and you can imagine the artist living there on his own with his sculpted heads...it is the combination of the place and the story behind it that makes it interesting. Particularly if nobody else is there and it is quiet...

What a great, casual walking experience. It was a quiet Sunday morning and few were out, so we got to stroll and get lost. One of the highlights were the closed shop doors individually painted by different artists as part of the area’s reclamation effort. We felt safe throughout. The people we passed all wished us a “buon giorno.” Give it a try.

Sweet littl0e chapel well looked after and with well laid out pizza with plenty of parking space which is badly needed because of the narrow access road. The pizza offers magnif2ident views towards Panarea and Stromboli and if you are lucky for the priest who looks after it to be around, it will be open and it is worth visiting on the inside where there is the original altar painting which was uncovered when the present one was taken down for restoration. It i1s also a good pit stop if you driving around Lipari

Faro di Capo Gallo is an abandoned lighthouse standing at the bottom of a dramatic rock, overlooking the sea. A ride to the lighthouse will offer you scenic views all the way and the chance to observe some typical Mediterranean flora. It’s all about the journey, not the destination.
Don’t forget to pack some fresh water and wear hiking shoes, sunglasses and whatever head cover suits you.
You can also reach the lighthouse by bicycle or by motorbike.
I’ve seen people going there by car, yet I won’t recommend as the road is narrow and half of the pleasure will be lost.
Shortly after leaving Piazza Mondello you’ll enter the Capo Gallo Natural Reserve, so you have to pay one Euro. It’s going to be a very well spent Euro, don’t worry!

There’s a place in the southeast of Sicily where you can see two seas meeting each other. This is the place!
The beach is clean and spacious, there’s also a bar/restaurant and some facilities. The car park is close to the beach

We were not really sure what to expect and it turned out to be a fantastic experience seeing toys from our grandparents childhood as well as our own. (We are both 30 years old). The owner of the museum was very informative and enthusiastic which added to the experience, definitely worth a visit.
