Our 10 day long trip was based on Palermo as a headquarter, so from the there we had bigger chance to discover Erice and Segesta - I would say - slightly off the beaten path for many foreign tourist visiting Sicily. The town of Erice is probably one of the most preserved town of the island. Narrow streets, castles, churches, restaurants etc. - and you feel the history everywhere, but Erice is like a living organism, not like an open-air museum. Segesta with its Doric columns and views a good addition to this tour. I strongly recommend this small group tour of TourofSicily. Good organization, perfect guide and driver.
