Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here last August with my family. The walk down and up the steps was quite challenging for me I have to say! The views are incredible, you can literally see the edge of the island. The grotto itself is quite a small inlet, but I'd say it's a quite underrated place. A bit on the expensive side though.

From our experience the best beach close to the city (if you walk), the others close to the city are overcrowded with no shade available.
Maria Pia has beautiful trees that are offering shade - but come really early to get your spot between the trees. Also be careful about the signs around the trees, some spots cannot be access and the police is coming to check it regularly (signs only in Italian)
So far the only beach with shells underwater that we found - good for snorkeling ! :)

We came to the wine tasting on a tour operator trip. Lovely drive to it. The premises are in an idyllic location and the property is well kept. We had a very informative tour around the vineyard and the olive grove, followed by the wine tasting. This was really interesting and the wines were paired with cheeses and sausage. All in all, a very pleasant evening, would recommend

A long strip of sand, with several club sections, several bars, chez-lounges and umbrellas for hire, and sports rentals. Cold water after the recent storms, but tranquil, and likely warm at regular times. Very nice even in the less-than-perfect conditions. Club sections may cost €40 per two chez-lounges and one umbrella, whereas open-beach vendors charge only €15 for the same.

Had not planned to visite the caves, as we figured the 640 steps seem a bit much and the boat trip wasn't on our plan. So during one one of our outings, we decided to just head to Cappo Caccia to get the view point. There we found out Cappo is a military zone, and couldn't go any further. So we decided to do the steps and visit the caves. Didn't regret it. Cave are beautiful, the steps are not that tough, you can take your time with breathtaking view points along the way. Glad we did it. Plenty of trails for hiking in the area.

it was small and tightly packed - rented chairs for about 6 euro each - tough to find a spot (need to accept you wk get some dirty looks). sand was average, good people watching . water very clear. food was very poor (ordered a burger and that is exactly what I got / no bun etc and very undercooked / rubbery).

It is a beautiful little treasure near to Alghero. We were there in April in preseason, so it was very calm and beautiful.

A compact impressive sight with well-defined outlines that is a good example of its kind. Plenty of information on boards at the start of the visit.

Lovely sandy beach located around 8-10 in from Alghero. Accessed from the main road out of Alghero on the road to Capi Caccia. Due to its location the sea here is renowned for being clear but cooler than other Alghero beaches. Has the reputation of attracting a younger crowd.

Mostly walk around the old streets of the town… We parked about a kilometre, always to avoid parking fees. There were lots of one-way streets.
Historically, really nice with the abundance of restaurants and small alleyways.

An undeniable highlight of Alghero, understated in the interior but with an exuberant altar and pulpit ensemble. Well worth a visit.

Graves disturbed by a stone quarry. The real awe kicks in once you understand that the ancestors were digging these burial chambers with stone tools. Do not expect egyptian Valley of kings.
depending on your fantasy and respect to the site, plan between 30 to 90 minutes to read the infographics explaining the layout of approx 30 collective burial chambers and investigating the V and XXVIII graves. however the most interesting grave is the one at the end of the tour, with a staircase and stone pillars. the whole site is fully exposed to sun. It has convenient parking space and a shopette.
