Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you appreciate art, this is one place you should not miss in Milan as this museum has a beautiful collection of paintings. The collection is quite vast. It’s worth doing some research beforehand to make sure you don’t miss the major masterpieces. All the signage around the paintings has English along with Italian.

Upon entering the building’s courtyard, you will need to go up the stairs to reach the museum’s entrance. Unfortunately, there was a lot of construction in the courtyard and signage directing to the entrance was lacking. The museum’s website warned that reservations should be made online and indeed a “Sold Out” sign was posted when we arrived. Not sure how strict they are with the time slots, but we made sure to arrive close to our time slot. There were toilets scattered around the museum, a small Cafe is on the same floor as the museum, and a small souvenir shop is on the ground floor. Photography without flash is allowed.

The museum is not large in size but houses a handful of major canvases. Among the major works there is a beautiful Rafael portrait.

This is really a bit of a hidden gem. It is a spectacular mansion, filled with art. But most of all it is a testament to the family who lived in this historic mansion.

Tip: Don't miss the objects that are stored in certain drawers.

A museum with a lot of things to see, worth visiting if you are near the Duomo di Milano. It is also not as crowded as the other places.

Stefano was kind and shared lots of information as it pertains to the Colosseum, forum and the Pantheon. Disappointed the Pantheon was closed due to a church service, but nothing Stefano could control

Enclosed in a small gallery in Castel Sforzesco, you will find one of the last works of Michelangelo. This unfinished Pieta is displayed simply in the middle of the room, so that you can walk around it and appreciate it from all angles. Having viewed the artist's work in the Vatican, this piece provides a glimpse of his process. Very fulfilling experience.

A beautiful collection of art, a must see for any art entuziast while visiting Milano. One of the most impressive museums at Castello Sforzesco.

You’ll either love it or hate it. We didn’t love it. The most interesting thing about this place is the place itself. The only other thing that makes sense are the antique art expositions. The modern stuff is a waste of time for anyone who is not totally into that.

This museum hosts collections of sculptures and artworks of the late-ancient, medieval, renaissance periods. There are over 2000 pieces on display, in rooms with frescoes dating from the Sforza (1450-1535) and Spanish periods (1559-1707).

There are several masterpieces on display, such as:
    - The Ducal Chapel
    - Several memorials, the most beautiful (according to me) the Gaston de Foix memorial,
the Equestrian monument of Bernabò Visconti, the Sepulchral monument of Regina della Scala,
    - Several tapestries, and the huge 16th century Banner of the City of Milano,
    - a huge collection of Lombard Romanesque art,
    - the armory, with various armors and a selection of white and firearms from the late Middle Ages to the 18th century
    - The "Sala delle Asse", frescoed by leonardo da Vinci, currently under restoration and only partially visible)

I attended an official function in the MUDEC. While the displays were interesting, the organization and service were appalling.

A nice museum with lots to see, even if it is not as impressive as the other museums at the castle it is still worth a visit if you have time.

Fascinating place!!! By accident on Monday I looked for museum which was open and I chose this one and have to admit it surprised me how beautiful place, building, story and art it contained. Small but with precious atmosphere. I appreciated detailed descriptions and with didactic part I felt like little child discovering world again! Deserves better marketing that people do no go there by accident but choose it because they already know about this beauty.

Wonderful the gigantic wisteria that surrounds the church, it’s not true, it’s a magnificent idea of Leonardo Nava .
The sculpture unfolds from the stone floor at the side of the church and uplifting the stone of the facade. This art representation is made by more than 5000 twisted hazelnut tree branches of different sizes. It was made in 2018.
The deconsecrated church of San Sisto has used the studio- museum of Francesco Messina , 1900-1995, since 1974.
After using the inside space as his studio, Messina bequeathed to the city over 80 sculpture and 26 art works produced from the 1930s and these remained on show in the church as a reminder the artistic work done here.
