Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- LIMom2016Port Jefferson, NY234 contributionsBought the fast track tickets with lift to the roof for 30EU each. So worth it. We arrived at our chosen time 11:30am and were ushered right in to the lift and up to the roof with amazing views. After taking our time enjoying the entire rooftop, the ticket included access to the entire church including the fascinating basement crypt and the museum across the piazza. Spent about 5 hours in total, very enjoyable.Written 23 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sabrina GabrielSeychelles411 contributionsOnce we wrapped up our admiration of Piazza del Duomo and the Cathedral, we headed over to check out the renowned Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the oldest shopping centre. However, we couldn't fully appreciate it due to the large crowd. I felt really down about that. However, I managed to capture only a handful of images. It features a variety of design brands and dining options. However, I’m not someone who cares about brands or designers. It was enjoyable to browse around, even though it was crowded with people.Written 23 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - haejinaSingapore, Singapore196 contributionsThe experience was amazing and the guide added value to the tour by pointing out details we would have never noticed.
Just one tip- you need to book online early and be on site early. We had quite a miserable experience because it was raining and we had whiny kids. It was unclear what to do there and some of the staff there were quite rude. You must first go to the ticket office (not at the entrance where we thought we should wait but need to walk a bit to the side entrance on the left) to get it checked with a passport then collect your whisperers at another counter. Remember to check your backpacks in the locker before you go back to the entrance (or you will have to walk back again- not fun in the rain and v stressful when the guide has already started to talk). Then there is another round of security checks.
The mural was incredible to see in person, highly recommend.Written 1 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This place is very spread out (it was a castle after all!) so there are many types of museums on the property. Unless you plan to spend all day there I suggest you research the various collections and choose wisely.Written 21 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sabrina GabrielSeychelles411 contributionsWe chose to take a half-day break in Milan on our journey to Genoa. Finding a parking spot in Milan during December is quite a challenge, so we had to circle around a few times before we finally secured one. At last, after an extensive search. Our first stop was the stunning Piazza del Duomo. Incredible, simply incredible! Such a fascinating structure! Impressive and grand cathedral. The artistic work on the building is truly impressive. I didn’t have the opportunity to go inside because the queue was really long. Maybe next time! I was truly impressed by the cathedral. It was packed with people snapping photos and appreciating the architecture. Visiting it in Milan is an absolute necessity.Written 23 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 14SCL64 contributionsThis is one of the highlights of our trip to Lake Como. We arrived by boat into Lenno and walked to the villa. It is quite a trek so be prepared.
We paid for a tour of the house and garden ticket. The tour was excellent. Our guide was very informative and you were able to get an in depth history of the place. Scenes from Star Wars and Casino Royale have been filmed here.
We got the boat back to Lenno for 6 euros which I recommend doing.
This is a must do if you are on Lake Como.Written 22 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are a lot of stairs, but there is also a lift (for extra cost).
The climb was worth it, the view was great and the roof is nice if you want to see details of the architecture.
If you have time, we recommend going to the roof.Written 30 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At the end of the gallery is a wonderful cafe where we had a delicious cafe latte! All the staff had brilliant English so no need to worry if you can’t speak Italian!
You can buy tickets on the door ( I am a student so it was only €2!) and we went in straight away.Written 20 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Anda NegulescuBucharest, Romania161 contributionsOur visit was not connected with a show, it was just a tour of La Scala. We cued outside for over 30 minutes (and it was a quite cold December day), but we finally managed to get in. The idea is that they let people in as other come out, so as to keep only a certain number of persons simultaneously inside. The same policy applies for your time inside a box, this being the only moment when you actually get to see the hall itself. The hall is beautiful and it feels like a journey in time, as it looks like it was just recently built. The stage seems quite big, but not as big as in other world famous opera houses. We enjoyed very much the museum as well, there are lot of paintings and memorabilia of big names related to Opera (composers and singers).Written 19 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
