Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Museum is located in the town centre of Naples. It's good to book a ticket in advance on line, sometimes you cannot enter museum as walk in. The duration of visit is not log, thirty minutes are enough I would say. The most famous exhibit is the famous veiled Christ sculpture. The chapel is decorated with frescos who gives an exceptional sense of architect.

Educational and informative guided tour with Sabrina, our English tour guide. Learned a lot about the history of Naples and life down there during the wars. The underground tunnels are a must in Naples. My whole family had a fantastic time visiting the place. Thank you

A GREAT place to spend a Sunday AM as part of the free museums scheme the first Sunday of the month. So glad I came here first as there was a huge queue outside when I left about 11:45AM.

Room layout is confusing but there are English placards everywhere to translate what you’re seeing. Incredible collection of goods from Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as beautiful mosaics. The “Secret Room” is entertaining. Also recommend the exhibit on floor mosaics that costs €1.50. Absolutely stunning. The Hall of the Sundials is gorgeous, and has an interesting exhibit on the Byzantine Empire. Lots of sculptures, pottery, frescoes, etc to review.

We really liked the whole complex, Vasari’s frescoes are truly breathtaking and visiting the hypogeum is really worth it - and it comes with the guide who explains the meaning of the place. Our guide was really nice and helpful. Definitely a place to visit while in Naples.

A wonderful anatomical collection, consisting of malformations, developmental stages of embryos, different pathologies and general anatomy. The museum is free to visit and they provide a free audioguide in english! Would highly recommend.

Am undiscovered gem in the centre of the old town, only open since 2019 and hampered by Covid closures.
The renovation project is inspired by a small group of young students, who as well as giving mini tours in italian and English, have put their heart and soul into the project..
Be sure to sign their petition for local government funding to help them.

Very Cool! There are art everywhere. Be careful my husband got distracted and dizzy looking up at all the art and end up falling the stairs Didn't get hurt was still able to walk after. But all the art can have this dizzy effect in some people.

It is a definitely must to see, if you are taking the train.

This museum is next door to Castel Sant Elmo on top of Vomero Hill.

Definitely worth a visit as it contains some great exhibits as well as great views across Naples.

You can start the adventure by taking a funicular to the top of Vomero Hill!

They offer a Soterranea experience, but in small scale, compared with the other one with the cisterns. They insist that this tour is non calustrophobic and that it absolutley true, all wide spaces. The other one is impossible for claustrophobics.

In the underground part, you’ll see a market and a private house. Then, with the same ticket, you can visit the basillica and the beautiful Chapter hall in the cloister.

This has got to be one of the best railway museums in the world. Buildings that once housed a railway factory have been impeccably restored and filled with dozens of historic steam and electric locomotives (turns out Italy was an early adopter of electrical trains), all painted and polished, with their model and serial numbers inscribed in a bright red stripe along the front, and with all relevant explanations, including in which movies they were featured! In addition the grounds are beautifully maintained, with a botanical garden and a great view of Naples.
Make sure to allocate 3 hours for the visit and check the opening hours and days because it's only open Thursdays to Sundays. It's a 15-min. ride from Naples by train (costs like a euro) but those trains run only every half hour so make sure to take that into account as well

Excellent museum but annoyed at the lack of English translations and context given compared to the Archeological Museum. Still a lovely collection of art. Glad I went for free the first Sunday of the month.

This museum doesn’t have the most amazing artworks, but they are displayed and explained in such a way that makes it a really nice museum to explore. We had the place virtually to ourselves and enjoyed walking through the beautiful spaces. We also really appreciated how the works were often organized by theme and the focus was on their religious symbolism.

Mario was incredibly knowledgable about every part of the museum, and the history of medicine in Italy, as well as universally. He was so generous with his time and the information he knows. Everybody in the museum was very helpful and friendly. The museum itself is full of interesting information and objects. Definitely a great place to visit, even if you are not particularly interested in the medical field :)
