Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Of all the Museums in Madrid we found this to be the best. Easy access, great visitor map, sufficient information on the exhibits of interest. Very friendly staff. A 2 hour visit lasted over 4 hours with more still to see. The self guided tour is a must.

Pre booking the tickers is a big help.

Lovely Park located in the city centre. Nice to get a bit of space away from the crowds. There are cafes inside if you want to eat or drink.

For just 12 Euro or so, within short time you can see a lot of valuable exhibits from the Spanish Royal family, such as the Crown and other regalia, arms, furniture, porcelain, art pieces, and so on - right in the real premises of Royal Palace, which is the architectural masterpiece itself. Going to visit it again when I have much more time.

The artwork is fabulous. The setting is the home and studio he and his family lived in. The house and gardens are well maintained and make a perfect place to exhibit his work. I’ve been many times and I love it. This time I was annoyed by the women guarding each room. My small backpack seemed to be the problem. Room 1 guard told me to take it off my back, room 2 guard said to wear it on my front, room 3 guard said the backpack wasn’t on the front as it should be, and as I left the door guard told me to put my backpack in a locker. These were never gentle requests, always orders barked at me. The shop assistant was equally obstreperous. I was not alone in being nagged about the wearing of backpacks. It should have been a pleasant visit, instead I felt hounded. Perhaps the people selling the tickets should direct visitors to the locker room at that point, not having room guards chasing the wrongdoers.

Gran Via is a classical venue for shopping in central Madrid. It's a lot of fun to visit both day and night. However, if you are someone who gets uncomfortable in crowds, this might not always be the place for you. During the day, we saw load of people walking around and shopping. It was similarly active at night though the people were much younger and rowdier though in a fun way. It is certainly worth a visit of only for the architecture.

This is one of Madrid's several amazing, classical shopping and dining plazas. It is a place to take in some incredible architecture as well as browse through some really great restaurants and shops. We chose not to eat there since the prices are inflated to reflect the location. But it is still worth a visit.

Had high expectations for Salamanca touring - as read it was very posh, many mansions, etc. It is true there is high end shopping but very spread out, and perhaps a mini narrow mansion (not as opulent as Paris, etc) squeezed in between other buildings. It was far more busy (weekday - noon) than expected, even on less busy streets - didn't seem very posh or peaceful. Not a must see unless really into high end shopping.

A neighborhood with a lot of history, today it has a wide variety of restaurants and bars to go at night or during the day. The gastronomic proposal is very attractive

We passed by a couple of times and we were always impressed by the beautiful buildings and the fountain. Perhaps a guided tour where they explain the history of the place would have been nice, either way amazing spot in Madrid.

The mercado is amazing, but keep in mind you have to be creative in finding a place to eat.

There are a number of food stalls that had different tapas. We started out with having a glass of sparkling wine and then we moved on to a stall that had oysters, caviar, and French wine.

We were able to share a table with a couple and we took turns getting tapas and drinks.

A great open space with a wide trail for walking, running, or cycling. There were a number of smaller playgrounds along the route and you really only have to cross 1 major road along a 6km stretch. We rented a family cycle from Eco Moving Sports at an hourly rate and joined the crowd along the river.

This striking cast iron and glass palace built in 1887 was modelled after London’s Crystal Palace at Hyde Park. Owned by the Reina Sofia Museum, it is used primarily for temporary exhibitions. It was free to enter but when we went a little underwhelming inside - empty, except for mirrors that let you see the ceiling and mist being sprayed throughout? I think it's best seen when there's exhibitions inside...
