Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely Park located in the city centre. Nice to get a bit of space away from the crowds. There are cafes inside if you want to eat or drink.

We did enjoyed our visit. But I agree with the other reviews that it it a bit limited and the main attraction is the museum with all of the trophies. I honestly expected more, but still nice.

Gran Via is a classical venue for shopping in central Madrid. It's a lot of fun to visit both day and night. However, if you are someone who gets uncomfortable in crowds, this might not always be the place for you. During the day, we saw load of people walking around and shopping. It was similarly active at night though the people were much younger and rowdier though in a fun way. It is certainly worth a visit of only for the architecture.

This is one of Madrid's several amazing, classical shopping and dining plazas. It is a place to take in some incredible architecture as well as browse through some really great restaurants and shops. We chose not to eat there since the prices are inflated to reflect the location. But it is still worth a visit.

Travellers interested to know the origins of Spanish culture, shall start from this museum. Smaller, compared to other European archeological museums (for instance Vienna) however of equal importance. I visited the floor with the exhibition on Iberia Peninsula only as the Greek exhibition was closed. To summarize, I came out of the museum with knowledge on the cultural history of Iberian Peninsula and amazed from the beautiful artefacts I saw and the informative text. You will adore the bust of the Iberian Lady/Queen and the bronze roman law scripts. It has also an interesting atrium with a skylight and wooden cladded staircase. Easy to navigate.

    Do not miss it.

Had high expectations for Salamanca touring - as read it was very posh, many mansions, etc. It is true there is high end shopping but very spread out, and perhaps a mini narrow mansion (not as opulent as Paris, etc) squeezed in between other buildings. It was far more busy (weekday - noon) than expected, even on less busy streets - didn't seem very posh or peaceful. Not a must see unless really into high end shopping.

We passed by a couple of times and we were always impressed by the beautiful buildings and the fountain. Perhaps a guided tour where they explain the history of the place would have been nice, either way amazing spot in Madrid.

A great open space with a wide trail for walking, running, or cycling. There were a number of smaller playgrounds along the route and you really only have to cross 1 major road along a 6km stretch. We rented a family cycle from Eco Moving Sports at an hourly rate and joined the crowd along the river.

This striking cast iron and glass palace built in 1887 was modelled after London’s Crystal Palace at Hyde Park. Owned by the Reina Sofia Museum, it is used primarily for temporary exhibitions. It was free to enter but when we went a little underwhelming inside - empty, except for mirrors that let you see the ceiling and mist being sprayed throughout? I think it's best seen when there's exhibitions inside...

Puerta del sol is the centre of Madrid (pretty much) and you most likely will pass through on your way to something. Unfortunately when we visited it was in some sort of construction, however it’s still worth it to visit and have some coffee or do some window shopping nearby.

Stunning building designed by architects Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi opened in 1919 and served as the Head Post Office. It is now Madrid’s City Council headquarters and home to CentroCentro (Cultural Centre). This venue is a public meeting place and a setting for action, participation, leisure, and learning. Activities held here include concerts, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, performances, screenings, and publications. Inside the palace are City Council offices, an Auditorium, Crystal Gallery, and Exhibition areas. There is also a cafeteria, 2 restaurants, a bar and the 8th floor Mirador observation deck where one can see the outstanding Madrid views. The Palace was declared a Cultural Heritage Monument in 1993. Free tours are available- take advantage

We stayed in Barrio de las Letras for 9 days, and loved it. The location is very convenient as it is within walking distance to most tourist attractions and Puerta de Atocha Train Station. The gastronomy choices here are vast with some excellent restaurants. This area is less touristy and not crowded as areas closer to Sol or Plaza Mayor. It is a quiet area, so we figure living here would be great.

It's certainly interesting to have a look around a genuine Egyptian Temple and there are carvings and other details to appreciate. However it's worth only about 15 minutes inside.
When we arrived, there were about 40 people in front of us and it took just over an hour before we were admitted. Had we known that, we wouldn't have waited.

If there's no more than a dozen or so ahead and it's not too hot/cold, go for it. Otherwise, don't bother, is my advice.

Excellent stadium tour and well worth the money. There was a Spanish and English speaking guide with lots of information and history given about the club.
