We cruised around drinking wine and tasting the most amazing foods and it's right in our favorite part of town with great restaurants, shopping and hotels.
Great shareable food and very close to great shopping and Plaza Mayor.

San Anton Market
#17 of 308 Shopping in Madrid
Nice surprise going to San Anton Market, had a good eating and shopping experience there, the market was clean and well organized.
Rather than a traditional market selling mostly groceries, Mercado San Anton has been converted to a trendy place where many small eateries and gourmet shops are under one roof.

Desperate Literature

The shop is absolutely gorgeous and full of charming quirks ("boozy books," a selection of books that'll get you a free shot of whiskey with your purchase!).
This is a must-do when in Madrid and a must-buy when in the shop, you won't come away without discovering something new & buying something!
