Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- CosmikaoMontreal, Canada112 contributionsOne of the many museums we visited in Girona. Very informative and educational experience, offering insight into the contributions and cultural richness of Girona's Jewish community, and the suffering that the community had to endure during the expulsion of all Jews from Spain in the late 1400s. Well-renovated building (though not completely air-conditioned), and lots of great information on posters and exhibits, in Catalan, Spanish, English and French. Great to visit if you're interested in local history and culture.Written 31 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CosmikaoMontreal, Canada112 contributionsWe came here after having gone to the other affiliated archaeological museums of Empuries and Ullastret. When seen together, all these museums offer exciting insights into the cultural and historical richness of Catalonia.
This museum in Girona is located in a gorgeous restored monastery, which features both a temporary exhibition in the main space, and the permanent exhibition upstairs, beyond the cloister. The permanent exhibition has hundreds of artifacts arranged chronologically, with excellent illustrated posters in both Spanish and English that explain various periods in detail. A must-visit if you love learning about local history and culture.Written 31 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It features rooms of artifacts and exhibits grouped by era, from ancient times to the present. Lots of interesting things to learn. There were letter-sized handouts / panels with general information translated into various languages for those who cannot read Catalan for each exhibit room. Overall, this museum -- when visited along with the Archaeological Museum of Girona -- gives visitors an excellent timeline and insight into the rich culture and history of this city.Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
