Built between 1902 and 1930 by a contemporary of Gaudi, architect Louis Domenech I Montaner, created an amazing open space, with gorgeous free standing buildings that were set in a magnificent garden setting. The purpose? This amazing UNESCO World Heritage site was a hospital for the poor.
With some of the most beautiful architecture we've ever seen, we can only imagine the therapeutic benefits of sitting in the magnificent garden complex, and drinking in the fragrance of lavender and orange.
If you love history and stunning architecture, this site is not to be missed.
What a treasure!
*HIGHLY* recommended.
