Everyone knows the story of the Project that will never end, and they will recognise the view from the outside. But this does not tell 20% of the Story, to know the rest I recommend that you do one of the many Guided Tours. Doing so the guide explains so much more and you get inside, be prepared to have your Jaw dropped.
My only regret is that we should've booked the tour up one of the Spires, but at the time I didn't know they had a Lift to take me to the top and you walk down, next time I will do this.
We used Julie Travels to book our Guided Tours, we will use them next time.

I highly recommend taking a Free Walking Tour to discover the Gothic Quarter. So much to see and learn about!
There are lots of small bars and restaurants, so be sure to check out Trip Advisor before settling on one. I was rather disappointed by the Churros y Chocolate at one place, despite having high Google reviews.

This is an old hospital built just over 100 years ago and was still functioning as a hospital 15 years ago. This is unlike any other hospital you will ever have visited. The view from the first flood of the main building towards the Sagrada Famillia are amazing.

This is really worth to visit if you are interested in local art history. It is possible also to get to the roof of the building. There are nice views.

Once in a lifetime experience! Gaudi was an amazing artist who saw the world and was able to design in a way for us, mere mortals, to be transported to another place. La Familia Sagrada is an incredible place to visit. Definitely a place you do not want to be rushed. You will want to watch the light stream through the windows, the sculptures depicting the scenes from the Bible. An incredible church that is hard to put into words. Buy your tickets early and go with a guide otherwise you will be stuck in a very long line!

We came early to get seats on the steps, but people climbed walls and blocked our view. The fountain show was really nice, similar to the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It was just far too crowded for my liking. I recommend going late and just standing near the fountain. We would have had a better view that way.

This is a nice place to walk about for a while before you enjoy the magic fountain. It is also nearby the Arenas of Barcelona Mall.

We visited the CosmoCaixa with the aim to see the wonderful flooded rainforest which really lived up to expectations, was so interesting and very relaxing to look at. There were lots of interactive exhibits our favourite being the mind ball where you sat opposite one another and had to use the Alpha waves from your brain to move the ball to the opponent's end of the tube. So so interesting. The people working there were always happy to answer questions and show you how things work, and those we spoke to had excellent English. We visited as a couple and highly recommend visiting the restaurant 'Mirablau' after your visit! Extremely close and stunning views over the whole of Barcelona.

Our visit to Casa Vicens was very enjoyable mainly due to the welcoming and helpful staff and the excellent audio guide which can be downloaded via a QR code to your mobile phone. The guide takes you from room to room explaining features and Gaudi’s inventiveness and ingenuity to work within a budget without compromising the wonderful final result.
The house is a little difficult to find but well worth the effort. It is less crowded than other places in Barcelona.

Besides the famous “Block of Discord” with the Gaudi building, many of these buildings from the same period were often fanciful and over-the-top. If you chose to look above the street level shops, the buildings gave you a picture of a time at the turn of the 19th century when this area must have been THE place to live. I loved strolling this section of the city.

It is a beautiful palace and if you visit other masterpieces of Gaudí in Barcelona, you will see that is an architectural lab for other famous buildings of the architect.
What is most amazing of the building are the doors details, the stained glasses, the chapel, and the ceilings. The roof is also very interesting, how Gaudí experiments with 'trencadís' and the chimneys which you can see similar shapes to 'Sagrada Família' towers or 'la pedrera'.
A very recommended visit to see other creations of the architect.

We really loved this park! I stumbled across it on Pinterest and some friends who had just got back from Barcelona said they didn’t even know it was there.

But it’s beautiful! A quiet spot with some lovely features including the boating lake with all of the birds and ducks around. If you want an hour away from the bustle, here’s your place!
