Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- meinirannCarmarthen, UK3,051 contributionsThe beach is easy to get to from the city centre via metro. It’s about a 10 minute walk from there. It was the end of April and it was busy, but I wouldn’t say it was too busy due to it being early in the season. It will probably be far busier from next month onwards. It wasn’t that easy to take a long stroll on the beach as many places were cordoned off, but I think they were just preparing the area for the main part of the tourist season. It’s a shame they couldn’t have finished before Easter. Still, I did manage to get a nice walk in and found a place to sit down on a stone walkway to look out at the sea, which was nice. It’s definitely calmer here than the city centre, but I did find beaches on the Costa Brava nearby calmer. I’d actually recommend you go for a day trip there if you can. There were restaurants all along the beach front and they were all very busy and full. I struggled to get a table, and when I did manage to get one, they needed it back in an hour, so I only had time for a drink and a light bite. The one thing I didn’t like was all the sellers on the beach that pester you. I’m on holiday to relax and unwind - not to be pestered by people like these. I don’t understand how they’re allowed to get away with it. It’s not a good look for the area either. Still, it is a nice beach. Definitely worth a visit if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and can’t get to a beach out of the city.Written 10 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - juliaandadam123Ashford, UK1,638 contributionsAs others have said this is a much quieter beach than others nearby. It doesn’t have as many facilities as busier beaches, but these are walkable if needed.Written 28 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - juliaandadam123Ashford, UK1,638 contributionsThis beach was quite a walk away from Barceloneta, but the further you get the quiet the beaches. Not as many facilities as closer to the main part of the city, but bring drinks and hope you don’t need the toilet!Written 27 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark HGreater London, UK15 contributionsA rarity to find a clothes optional beach so open and easily accessible in an urban area. Nice Sandy beach. Sea was clear and warm. Very open and relaxed feel. Seemed genuinely inclusive of all, whether in swim wear, topless, naked, or male/female etc. part of the beach was more screened and part not but genuinely no-one seemed bothered by nor interested in who was wearing what, whether they were on the beach, at the bar, the toilets/showers or just walking past.
A good option for a mix of naturists and not.Written 5 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - TAMAN1951Liberty Lake, WA6,298 contributionsOne of the most famous beaches in Barcelona.
I found it to be very crowded but i guess that’s expected when a beach is so close to a large city.
It’s at the end of the Rambla so that adds to the attraction feature .Written 16 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sea is clear too and not as crowded as other nearby beaches in the city.Written 27 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mais25 contributionsWe went here for the morning while it wasn’t too busy, nice Sandy beach and warm sea. There are showers and toilet facilities nearby and also a lot of bars and restaurants/fast food. Nice to relax and go in the sea but you will be pestered by the beach sellers trying to sell drinks and thingsWritten 22 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roland NTrnava, Slovakia2,948 contributionsNice city beach, close to the town to walk, run or just chill out. Good choice of restaurant can be found around.Written 19 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stevo29garSan Antonio, TX9 contributionsWe went to the beach to spend the day there and get into the water. We read on the reviews to watch out for thieves waiting to take your things if you’re not watching them. We didn’t realize how many people are actually pacing back and forth looking to see what you have and wait for you to leave your stuff unattended. After watching them for several hours, we figured out that they have these blankets they are selling, but it’s actually their flag to signal other people working with them that items are left unattended. They open the blanket like presenting it, but its marking their location and another individual that sells water or beer will go check it out and get real close to the items and see if he could take them. They also sell bottle water for 5 euros which is ridiculous so if you want a bigger and cheaper water, go into the restaurant. The beach itself and water were great, but having to constantly worry about these thieves takes the relaxation away from the beach. They did scatter like roaches when the police came by, but come back out when they left. I think if they had police constantly or stationed there, the beach could be really wonderful. Oh it is legal for women to go topless so just a FYI.Written 24 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
