Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a cool building which houses various relics from Catalonia’s history.

There are floors and artefacts dating back well over 100 years in a large undercover space.

It is free to enter but tour guides are available for a fee.

Old Hospital de la Santa Creu is a great location for the National Library. Within stone works originating in the 15th century, a vast collection of tomes and volumes are held.

As a Library it relocated here in 1940 and was deemed the National Library in 1981.

Tremendous vaulted halls now provide a valuable service for the local people, with easy access and many facilities.

An exhibition on photography was underway, comprising numerous books of same.

Large barn like conference venue. Main exhibition hall has reasonable air con at the front, a bit stuffy at the back. Lecture halls have good acoustics
Meeting rooms upstairs however rather warm (it wasn’t hot outside, in fact it rained most of the week)

Interesting public library that worth a visit. It's a very good complement of the main places in Barcelona. It's not a touristic place and could be a good place to rest for a while and get into an old atmosphere. They have a very good Sherlock Holmes collection.
    The visit is free.

Barcelona Fira Montjuic Hall of Conferences is a very large space. It has been there for decades and it is one of the most important in Europe. It hosts many exhibitions of various kinds where companies showcase their products. The building is a nice architectural sight. There was a car exhibition during our visit. Quite interesting. The building, or complex of buildings, is next to the "Magic Fountain" and the Art Museum and visitors are thus given the chance to admire several sights within easy walking distance of each other.

The Palau Moja is an 18th century Merchants town house now housing government units and a tourist info office and shop with touch screens that show the history of the city , very informative and nicely laid out . the building itself is lovely and was restored after damage in a fire.

I like Black Books on TV, not so much in real life. The surly Irishman behind the counter is a poor imitation of Bernard Black, and made my visit a thoroughly unpleasant experience. The whole time I was there he was loudly rude and passive-agressive toward his co-worker, making everyone in the store quite uncomfortable. When I went to pay I was greeted with a surly glance from the above mentioned gentlemen while he continued to file his nails and ignore me until his co-worker was ready to serve me.
Don't bother attempting to sell books to them. They will either accuse you of trying to steal them, or offer you 1 Euro for a book in brand new condition (or in my case both).

I guess one positive is that I'm now inclined to learn Spanish so I never have to go back there.

Barcelona City Hall Tourist Office is a lovely building. The architecture is quite striking in this neoclassical building. But then again, the people of Barcelona have magnificent architecture on display anywhere you care to go. The service inside the tourist office, however, is a different story altogether. Often you are asked to buy something you do not really want or need. Many, but not all, Spanish, have to be in the mood to be nice to others. It must be a "Spanish thing".... But we have met many really beautiful, well mannered and extremely helpful Spaniards everywhere we went.
