This was so much fun! I like seeing old ruins of cities so this was perfect for me. However, I will say that better signage telling people where to buy tickets would be a good addition. When my friend and I first arrived, we couldn’t figure out where the museum was or where to buy tickets. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Delightful and very thorough presentation of the history of Catalunia!
It encompasses prehistoric times, Roman then Visigoths , then Moors occupation, the Middle Ages and feudal times, Castillan domination, the Franco years, etc, up to the present day.
It features beautiful artifacts, reconstructions of typical houses and shops, and clear explanations in Catalan, Spanish and English.
Hands-on exhibits are off limits because of the coronavirus.
We were so engrossed by the history of Catalunia that we forgot to go to the rooftop 1881 restaurant...
    Next time!

Some very interesting pieces and a must for anyone interested in Egyptology. A nice quiet few hours of rest bite from the hustle and bustle on the streets. I was enthralled, but you may need a specialist interest in Ancient Egypt to fully appreciate this museum. Luckily it’s one of my great passions so I had a ball!

Ancient charity house transformed into a cultural building with a library and expositions areas. You can get it for free to admire the cloister or rest into its library. The expositions are temporal and sometimes free.
You can ask about if it's allowed to get into the terrasse on top of the building, it is open some days of the year.

Very few signs are in English but you can use the QR codes dotted around the museum to listen to an audioguide in several languages, which is needed if you want to enjoy everything on display. The first exhibition was about funerary practices and it was really interesting to see the recreations of tombs and crypts. Then it moved onto archaeological finds specific to Catalonia which gave a great insight into the civilisations that came before the Spanish rule. There was also a temporary exhibit but nothing was in English and there were no audioguide QR codes. Overall it was an enjoyable experience but the Barcelona card only gave a discount and I don't think it was worth the price paid

This was located very close to our hotel, so we stopped in to check it out. Although there is certainly an impressive array of perfumes and cosmetics inside, they are all things that are for sale...more like a store than a museum.
