Can’t say enough good things about our Devour food tour with Francesc, it was, quite simply, the cat’s pajamas. Each stop along the tour provided a wonderful glimpse of the tastes and culture of Catalunya. The food at each stop was nothing short of a fancy feast but don’t worry, no cat food; instead we were treated to some of the highest quality jamon, cava, and patatas bravas that Barcelona has to offer. On a silly note, one of the tour participants spilled a glass of red wine on another participant. Showing off the reflexes of a jungle cat our guide sprang into action as he marshaled resources to help clean up the mess. In the end, all was well and we kept the good times rolling.
Another wonderful component of the tour was the brief but intriguing dive into the rich history of Barcelona. The cat did not have Francesc’ tongue as his love for Barcelona, and all of Catalunya, shone through.
The tour was primarily in and around Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, a beautiful maze of narrow curved streets with beauty and history around every turn. It must have been like herding cats keeping the group together amongst all the hustle and bustle, but Francesc did a masterful job of keeping us all on-track. All in all, the tour was great - delicious food, beautiful architecture, and amazing people!
