Barcelona Shopping Guide

Barcelona is all about design. It’s in the city’s bones, from the late 19th-century urban plan that gave birth to masterpieces of Art Nouveau architecture to the city’s waterfront, with its boardwalks and marinas and promenades. And it’s in virtually everything you might imagine buying here: a special sense of style apparent in the clothing, footwear, home furnishings, and graphic arts you’ll find in Barcelona. Here are a few ways to tap into all that creativity.

Eixample

The stately Passeig de Gràcia, from the Diagonal to the Plaça Catalunya, is Barcelona’s Madison Avenue, its Champs-Élysées, where Spanish and international luxury brands like have their Barcelona flagship stores. The Passeig is the dividing line between the Left (Esquerra) and Right (Dreta) quarters of the Eixample neighborhood. Left is where the high-end shops continue, along the cross streets to the Rambla Catalunya and Enric Granados—both pleasant tree-lined shopping promenades.
