Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely beach for swimming and sunbathing with soft sand and clear blue water. The top end of the beach is black sand which made for stunning photos with the blue sky, whereas the sand was more traditional golden yellow at the more touristy southern parts near all the (expensive) restaurants.

We were very surprised that all of the restaurants here are so pricey! We had a lovely meal at Acanto (reviewed separately) but there are many more food options (and a lot more varied choice too!) just a short walk up the coast at Fañabé Beach.

We arrived at Duque Beach lunchtime after a busy morning. We had an explore and lunch, before walking from the top of Duque Beach all the way along the coastal promenade to Fañabé Beach, which took maybe 30 minutes on a gentle stroll. A lovely walkway along the coast with wide flat paths so very pram/wheelchair accessible.

Highly recommend Altamira for smoothies / cocktails by the sea at the top end of the beach (reviewed separately).

We didn't stay to relax on the beach but it looked beautiful as we walked past; spacious so plenty of areas where it was not too crowded and soft sand / clear water. If we had had more time we would definitely have returned for a beach day.

The beach is beautiful and one of few with golden sand on Tenerife. The beach is spacious and even with a lot of people it never gets crowded. Plenty of places to get food and drinks. The beach has wave breakers so it’s ideal with small kids as it’s not rough water and the beach is ground.

Nice Beach , just to short . at high tide you invade the free space and it feels a bit cram-te. Tide comes in fast compared to beach of los Cristiano's . Not ideal with kid's or bad swimmers

Lovely beach with soft black sand, it's a bit of a treck to get to on foot, but you can get a cab from Port del la Cruz or hire a car and drive down the single winding track to a resturant above with a 3 euro car park. It's well worth a visit but it's a long was down a lot of steep steps so it's not for the physically challenged.

A nice area of Tenerife. Weather is generally good. Beach is really nice though the sea was often too rough to swim. The lifeguards can be extremely rude and aggressive so be warned.
Restaurants behind the beach were ok. We particularly like Pepi Vintage Italian - the pizzas we're really good. Also Restaurante Palillos De Oro had nice Chinese and sushi.
Did a whale watching trip from Los Gigantes. The trip was good but there weren't many whales.

We spent a day out at fanabe beach. It's well worth it. Nice restaurants and attractions for kids. They have trampolines playground there, and the beach is amazing. We been there February. The weather was nice 26 degrees.

It wasn't obvious where to hire the sunbeds and umbrella from, but we did find a large area in the shade at the far end of the beach and it was also the best place to swim as it was less wavey.
There's free toilets and changing room, which was really useful and reasonably clean.

Visited in Feb to get away from the tourist hot spots, quite windy but pleasant none the less and not busy at all. Loads of free parking a 10 minute walk away.
There are sun beds and parasols for hire to the left. Although no shops etc nearby there was a guy selling water and juice from an icebox.
The beach next door (even more windy) was nice for a walk to see the kite surfers, loads of them which was fun to watch!

Very nice and beautiful beach. Clean and clear water. It is hard to find a place to park. You have to be ready to park your car and walk 15 minutes to the beach, as it is not possible to park near the beach. The food at the cafe right on the beach is expensive but tasty. The place is really very beautiful.

This beach is a very picturesque beach with palm trees behind and two set of rocks going out to see. One can hire sunbeds or sit on your chairs, rugs etc. It is very relaxing to go in the evening. There are a couple of bars nearby as well. However the sea is not great. There are lots of stones to go into it which hurt. Also the depth drops quickly and whereas there are no big waves, the tide is very strong and can bring a small child back on the beach and just as easily drag them into the deep areas. Great for children to play on the sand but this is NOT a beach which is good for children to paddle or swim in the sea

Pleasant small resort with good public transport connections.

    Not touristy at all.

A few nice eateries with views of the ocean.

Good swimming area with protection from the the Atlantic rollers.
