We booked a south tour with a booking company, we visited the national park.
OMG it was amazing!!!! Could go back time and time again. The views were amazing. They had a little souvenir shop which served the best coffee ever!

A very nice mostly brand new area on Playa blanca about 20 min walk from the main town, it consists of a Marina with the obligatory yachts that don't seem to go anywhere. There is also many restaurants around catering for families and couples quite a few upmarket fashion shops and to the rear a small shopping Mall that has some better value shops and hairdressers which I used as I forgot the pre-holiday haircut !

The Marina Rubicon is picturesque and nice to stroll around and would be a hive of enjoyment at night with lovely lights and music from bars filling the air.

There is still a lot of building going on in the area but its good to visit and has a market day twice a week. The No 30 bus will drop you off on the main drag about 300m away or stroll along the prom from the main town.

All over Playa Blanca and beyond you can clearly see this extinct volcano, about 200m high and just off a main road ,some minor roads and next to hotels and other housing. It is slightly red in appearance hence its name and looks from the bottom like a hill but when you observe the top is flattish that means its a hill that has blown its top, a volcano.

Not until you reach the rim of the basin will it all become clear, you can look and appreciate the terrain using the Google maps terrain setting. The basin is big, very big not too deep and flat at the base with some foliage and a lot of loose rocks now spelling names and hearts etc. Done by many a trekker who want to leave their mark.
I also looked for the Barbara plaque but could not find it, is it still there ??

There are many ways up and down the volcano depending on your fitness, I would suggest go the easiest way before the sun gets too hot, wear good sensible footwear, not flip flops, take water and food and a hat. Let someone know you are going and the latest time back, I did the full route up/down and a look around in about 2 hrs. Tracks mark the many routes stick to these, best approach from the east or north towards the volcano, there are many tracks to pick from, from the east you can use the large transmitter as a waypoint.

So do it if you feel up to it, don't take anything for granted, think safety at all times.

And lastly don't forget your camera.

Nice beach with restaurants and shops behind it. Always plenty of sun loungers to rent on the beach if you want to. Stony on entry into the sea so I got some swimming shoes for me and my daughter so we could walk further out into the sea.

Very nice little beach, enjoyed by lots of tourists, a little bit protected in windy periods. Pefect place for snorkeling, many fishes on the area. It could be better if tourists would not throw bread on the water to feed the fishes...

Playa Dorada is a great beach! it was very clean, there were plenty of sun loungers (these are €4 per lounger, and €4 per parasol), and the sea wasn't *too* cold. You do get the usual beach sellers trying to flog watches, towels and sunglasses but they weren't too pushy and moved along easily. There are plenty of amenities nearby including bars and restaurants and a Burger King so you're never too far away from anything you need.

Stunning views and good information. The displays they did for us were interesting and the reps certainly knew there stuff. I last visited when I was 9 and it was good to come back several years later and see it again.

This was a lovely visit to break the day up during our holiday to Lanzarote.
The staff member at the desk was very friendly and polite, the areas were all clean and the general atmosphere was relaxing.

It is small in comparison to other aquariums we’ve visited, however there is a lovely selection of sealift to view.

Only downside, for the size of the attraction and that it didn’t take much time for us to navigate through the whole experience, it is on the pricey side.

This was a good walk around a volcano - well signposted with interesting noticeboards every few hundred metres giving information about the volcano and the surrounding countryside

Great food, fantastic music on both nights we were there. We celebrated a birthday for my brother in law, and Freddy and the staff made it special.

Lovely hotel, very clean and well maintained by the domestic staff. Rooms lovely, well equipped and best of all comfy beds!
Food varied and excellent and the chef's excelled in their presentation and willingness to please.
Pool area - unobtrusive relaxing music led to totally chilled days and a pleasant friendly experience enjoyed by young and old. Swimming was excellent.
Reception and domestic staff friendly and hard working always on hand to help out.
Hotel manager high profile and approachable.
Evening entertainment not suitable for those looking for lively atmosphere and noisy nights. Plenty going on out and about and within short distance of hotel.
Would not hesitate to book again. A big thanks to all.

The Cueva de los Verdes is a lava tunnel which you explore in company with a guide. The entry fee is included in a discounted entry ticket covering either 4 or six sites and available on-line. When we bought the six site ticket, we were advised to arrive early, so we were in the car park 15 minutes before the first tour and had only a short wait before the tour started. When we exited an hour later there was a lengthy queue.
The visit consists of an hour´s walk through the lava tunnel and you will learn about the geology and formation of the tunnel - it was very enjoyable and a worthwhile experience!
