Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- EnriqueSt. Albans, UK107 contributionsReally pretty white town. Spoilt only by the selfie takers and instagram bloggers.
Love this place for what it is. A beautiful traditional white town. Respect the residents and their property.Written 30 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You move through cobbled streets lined with wonder shops and places to eat. The buildings are old and have moorish influences!
The port itself and basilica are very worth a visit. Easy to get to by bus and plenty to keep you all day.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Simon JManchester, UK274 contributionsSituated centrally on Menorca, El Toro is the island’s highest peak. It offers splendid panoramic views of the island and is a lovely location to visit. You can see for miles on a clear day, and undoubtedly the location will offer incredible views of a sunrise and sunset if you visit early or late enough.
There is a monastery based at El Toro, which is quaint and beautiful. A car park is at the summit, but I can imagine it getting full on a busy day. There are also cafe, shop and bathroom facilities at the site - though you do need to pay to use the WC.
The road to El Toro is winding and steep, and there are regularly walkers on the road who are hiking to the summit. If you drive to the summit be cautious, careful and vigilant.
It’s a definite must visit location for people in Menorca.Written 4 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Simon JManchester, UK274 contributionsLithica is an amazing and excellent quarry that has been transformed into gardens. There is a stone maze based in the quarry that looks amazing from high up. The site also hosts concerts.
If you like horticulture, the site is also a great place to saunter and peruse around. You could easily lose track of time walking around the gardens.
There are also overflow carparks at Lithica. If the first car park is closed due to being full, drive down the road and you’ll find extra carpark spaces in an overflow carpark.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lifeguard on duty and a little Man selling drinks from a trolley!
Amazing after visiting the lighthouse at the northern tip and then a chilled swim n picnic
* roads are narrow so not for the faint hearted
But we’ll worth a visit, can’t wait to go again 🙌Written 23 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Rachael H25 contributionsHuge place with lots of history and big wows.
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side and wish we could have spent longer there but we’re there 2hours in the pouring rain. Managed to see the whole site and the big vickers guns which were great and impressive.
Staff were very helpful and offered to dry our clothes from the rain.
Great dayWritten 28 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Rob837Copthorne, UK5 contributionsThis place gets busy. Same as Cala Turqueta. We hired a car to consider driving but didn’t given we have a young family and it would be too much hassle to get to the beach for the time needed to get parked (in the taxi home, the parking signs showed Turqueta was full at 7.30am).
We ended up going by boat taxi from Cala n Bosch which was great fun, 25 mins and 25 eur pp.
We got there at 9 and left at 1. In that time the beach got progressively busier to the extent it was extremely full at the end.
Lovely beach, a challenging 20 min walk between two coves over a rocky path (boulders etc, we did it with a 3 year old but more suited for 6yr+ and old age would struggle).
One beach had some seaweed the other none.
Lovely place and glad we visited but for how busy it gets in august, I wouldn’t pin your hopes on it being an idyllic tranquil spot.Written 30 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - penny025Carlisle, UK457 contributionsA pretty cove that is worth the drive despite parking being very limited so be prepared to walk! The beach is quite coarse sand and stone but the rocks around the cove have a concrete path and sitting/ sunbathing areas. The water is clear and good for snorkelling although there were too many jellyfish to do that when we were there. There’s a bar/restaurant too.Written 15 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RachelManchester, UK23 contributionsWe’ve been coming here for a few years now and it’s a great experience. But, the cheese and ham stall has gone and that was always the part I looked forward to most. None of the other stalls have cheese platters on offer.Written 30 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PJJBDVLJAylesbury, UK128 contributionsWe bought a ticket for just the cathedral which was cE3. Nice place but didn’t take long to look round. The lady on the ticket booth was very helpful. - Amazing MenorcaNa Macaret, Spain6 contributionsIt is one of my favourite places to go when I do my trail running sessions. The views here are absolutely amazing. And the rock formation are really unique. This area is called "Black Menorca" in geologicat terms, formed aboud 400 millions years ago.
In summer you can not drive till the lighthouse, so from the car parking you will have to walk 2km to go, and same to return.Written 2 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - mabaker336Olula del Rio, Spain8 contributionsMenorca is a great island, very green and natural, with the use of local stone for the walls and some cute beaches. This time of year was perfect for us as it was not too busy, the weather was warm still and there was enough to do. I would recommend a car to be able to see some of the beauty spots on this lovely island. A boat trip is a must to see the beaches from the sea.Written 14 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnnePaulT7717 contributionsCala Trebalúger is another beautiful secluded beach on the island of Menorca which I would thoroughly recommend.
We parked at Mitjana car park and walked for almost an hour to reach the beach which was well signposted. Some of the walk was a challenge which probably explains why most of the people on the beach were young adults. I’m 60 so don’t be deterred if you’re fit.
The beach itself was clean and very picturesque. We arrived at 11:30 and there were few people there. More arrived but it was never what you would call busy.
The sea was shallow in places but the waves were quite high on the day we visited.
Expect to enjoy nature in all of its glory but be aware there are no facilities and no lifeguard.
For those who like to sunbathe nude, you can do so on this beach but nudists were few in number when we were thereWritten 11 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not really accessible at all for those who have mobility issues. Go and see it- it is a stunning view!Written 30 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
