Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For a relatively cheap price, our family were taken out for a great experience. Staff were friendly and suppportive. The transport was prompt and comfortable. Breakfast and lunch were minimalistic so I'd pack some food for the day.

What a fantastic, well spoken guide who gave us so much information and history on this gorgeous city. Our tour was run seamlessly and efficiently from the beginning to the end! Would definitely suggest taking this trip!

Well organised tour. Very knowledgeable guide. Very hot weather when we went and felt a bit too much free time to wander around shops that you can see anywhere in Spain. But the scenery was spectacular!

Our mid-morning reservation was canceled by the tour operator and we asked to join an earlier group. That changed our meeting time from 09:00 to 06:30. It took 3.5 hours (7 stops to pickup guests) to arrive at customs where we got off the bus to stand in line for 30 min. Then back on bus to cross border. Then we were rushed on/off bus to sites. Then another 3.5 hours / 7 stops to return to Malaga. All in all it took around 13 hours to spend 30 minutes total at the intended locations. If we knew we would be spending all day on a bus, we would not have taken the trip. Not worth giving up a full day and definitely not worth the cost.

After several emails - and some concerns/stress - we confirmed our pickup from the Malaga cruise port and following short taxi ride to van departure. A dozen of us were then very comfortably transported to a stop in Granada where we met our local “tour guide”. The parentheses appropriate due to the absence of any guidance. We literally followed the guide a couple of blocks to a main street, then we were told that one historic area was in one direction, while a second popular area was in yet another direction. Our guidance? “You’re now on your own. Make your way back to to van in approximately 45-50 minutes”. In all our travels, and many previous tours with Viator/TA, never felt so lost. So far, something less than 1*. On to Alhambra where we were met by a second local tour guide, with whom we spent several hours. Unfortunately I don’t recall her name. (However, to any TA personnel who might read this, she was young, petite, and wore distinctive red Converse sneakers.) This lady was absolutely excellent regarding her knowledge of everything Alhambra, and very professional in her concern for the comfort (it was hot) and interests of her audience / group. She deserves 6*. The site itself is amazing and well worth the time. I won’t elaborate further as other reviewers have exceeded my descriptive abilities. One last thing. A passport is not required. Simply an original government issued photo ID. Hope this helps. Good travels.

Absolutely first class from start to finish. I cannot recommend this tour company enough!! We were communicated with brilliantly. Worth the extra money for
The private experience - skipped all lines. Guide was so knowledgeable and really engaged our 9 and 11 year old. We will be using them for other tours in the region, Ronda and Tangier.

Setinil was very unique and interesting. It was a very different and pleasant visit. The contrasts beotween the two sides of the village were amazing.

Tour company was punctual arriving at pick up point well in time., bus was clean and cool with air conditioning. Tour guide Jorge (hope I got the name right? The one that loves climbing as a hobby) was really friendly and had good knowledge.

The Caminito del Rey itself is an amazing place with awesome views all around. You would be wowed at every corner. You will wonder how it was in the old days that they built everything.. If you’re afraid of heights or have vertigo, you may struggle a bit however it is a safe walk.
A must visit in Malaga in my opinion.

Everything was smooth, drivers were on time, buses were comfortable, guide was cheerful and nice.
Note that trip includes ~1h stop at a small town, for me that's a plus to get some food and coffee.

The only downside of this trip is time - my pickup point was Marbella and it started 6:25AM, later bus goes to Malaga and from there to the gorge. Queue on the gorge was enormous and it took about 1-1.5h to get going. Got back to Marbella around 6PM.
If you prioritize time efficiency then early booking on the hike & car rent is the best option.

Best adventure of our 3 week tour in Spain. Alfonso is great, speaks English very well, answers all your many questions about Spain and Spanish customs. Our group of 8 got along very well, the pace of the trip was just perfect for us (70 and 72 year olds, the oldest in the group), as we were all so awed by nature and man’s achievements that we dawdled often to gaze and take photos. You will get a break to sit and enjoy some cheese, chorizo and bread. So my advice is don’t hesitate to book this tour with Alfonso of Activa Tours. He takes care of all the details for you so you have no worries.

Alfonso brought us on a beautiful hike in the mountains on the old Arab aqueducts overlooking the beautiful white washed town of Frigilillana. He explained the history of the town, looked at trees growing papaya, avocado, bananas, chirimoya, and olives. Then we tasted wine with tapas at a local bodega. It was a wonderful trip and Alfonso is a great guide. Highly recommend. .

Absolutely amazing experience! The pictures do not do it justice, it is something you must experience in person. It is truly spectacular and breathtaking. Esther and Eduardo were excellent tour guides.

Overall, it was not what we expected. The bus did it stop at the designated stop, and we had to walk along a busy street. Bus was over booked so our family was split up on the bus. Bus tour guide spoke broken English and was hard to understand. Very little time in town to explore. We did have a nice lunch in town. We visited St. Micheal caves and the Monkeys but did not get to go to the top of Gibraltar. Most of our pictures were taken in a bus moving way too fast.

I think the trip is good for people who really don’t want to do any walking at all or perhaps have a handicapped of some kind. I think they should offer another trip where they do some of the same things, but have more scenic stops, then allow you to walk up to the top of Gibraltar from the monkey area. Gives you more time to explore. We felt very rushed.

This was a very, very nice trip with a formidable guide, Daniel. If the sales text had mentioned that we could see the drawings, we would not have been disappointed so late. Perfect to end in the old town of Nejra. Four and a halv stars!
