What travellers are saying
- Elena GBerlin, Germany123 contributionsOne of the most special beaches I have seen!
The sand is clear and the beach is huge - the backdrop of the dunes is spectacular!
You can hike up the dunes and enjoy a great view of the beach.Written 27 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The guide was lovely and informative and the views over Cádiz are the best you can get!Written 28 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - citycashWest Midlands, UK30 contributionsIf you have travelled this far , It's a No Brainer.
But not the best Cathedral you will ever visit but for 7 euro you may as well kill half an hour.
Cadiz is fairly difficult to get to from most parts of the UK, so for us we wanted to tick off as many boxes as possible whilst we were here.
The iglesia San Jaun De Dios is much more interesting with some stunning features, it's near by and free to go inWritten 26 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I’m not sure how many miles it stretches for, but it’s so long and wide it never seems full, even at a weekend. There is a good choice of chiringuitos along the beach and plenty of showers and toilets, particularly closer to Sancti Petri.
Being on the Atlantic there are some good waves but you have to go out a fair way till the water gets deep.Written 3 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can watch the horses being trained outside in the morning. We had tickets for the show which is once a week on a Thursday at 12.00. Show is very good. It is about careful skill of the horses and riders. The only criticism I would have was the late start as it did not get going until 12.25 as they appeared to be waiting for various well dressed dignitaries to turn up who were all late. We had to miss the second half in order to catch a train. So go early and watch the horses train and don’t be in a rush to get away in case the show is delayed.Written 6 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dozybint1973Newport, UK58 contributionsWhen i booked to stay in the area, I knew nothing of the area other than it was relatively quiet.
So I did a little Google as you do, checked a few trip advisor reviews & came across a German bunker. Great gives the husband something to look at as he is into his WWII history.
In 7 days we found 6 German bunkers all with in a 2hrs walking distance from our hotel. 4 of which are accessible to climb on/in. On the down side it was scaling one of these bunkers that the husbands mobile phone decided it was going for a swim in the sea. (note - please keep your phone safe & dry).
On another note, we couldn't have asked for a more relaxed holiday, quiet wasn't the word. There are restaurants/bars open mainly in the evening and the odd shop here and there. But it is mainly just a chilled out soak up the sun kind of place with deserted soft golden sandy beaches.Written 15 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stalls selling healthy fresh food were winding down, but all the eating outlets were in full flow. So availed of some of these for a memorable lunch.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of the area was covered and the guide had a great deal to tell us. The video walls at the end were impresssive, as were the huge cathedrals of barrels. The little train was a bit of a squash and our guide, although informative and interesting, had rather a harrying tone and treated us rather like school children. Not much humour and certainly not amenable to taking any questions. If you dared to interrupt there was a lecture and so we all went through the experience rather like polite and silent sheep really. One got the impression that she really didn’t enjoy looking after us! The nicest part of the tour was the full tasting, and we had pre ordered the five types of Sherry and tapas. It was excellent .Written 9 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Betty W6 contributionsWe got to the park by chance, while visiting with the Questo app city exploration game, and we are glad we did. - The Wellbeing GamerCannock, UK852 contributionsWe had an amazing time on this beach, I loved my swim out in the sea. It was calm, beautiful sand, we'll be back if we find ourselves back in Cadiz.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gab ZLiverpool, UK52 contributionsWell worth a visit if you find yourself in Jerez. We preferred our time here to anything else in town. Very reasonably priced, well looked after and plenty of historical information around without detracting from the architecture. It was very quiet when we went and much nicer for it.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
