A Hamburg experience not to be missed. But allow enough time. There is so much detail in every exhibit you will need 3+ hours to do the place justice. Watch out for the in jokes - Millennium Falcon at the airport, dead body face down in river as part of a crime scene investigation, naked figures in sauna - just some examples. The back stage tour is also well worth booking as this gives you greater insight into the challenges of creating and maintaining this installation. English language tours are opened up on request. Like the Fischmarkt, Miniatur Wunderland has become a Hamburg institution and they continue to innovate and add to their exhibits.

Speicherstadt is stunning with the water and the warehouses creating something very special. The mood is sombre but the architecture is spectacular. A must visit.

This is a tunnel built for vehicular and pedestrian traffic to cross Elbe river . These are twin tunnels built to go from the mainland to the ports/docks on the other side of the river. We could however see only bicycles. You go into the tunnel via a lift and on the other side, you can have a great view of the port as well as the main land. The tunnels are built 24 m below the surface and its almost half a kilometre long.

A must see, especially if you are lucky with the weather. Very nice architecture and try one of the numerous (short) boat tours. A stroll in the historical port streets are nice and try to count all the bridges you cross (will be a lot). And of course go up the viewing platform of the Elbphilarmonie and bring you kids to the Miniature world. Worth the visit.

This is a delightful set of gardens providing a green lung for Hamburg.
The planting is exquisite and it provides for a delightful walk.

The church is light and superbly maintained. The altar is beautiful and is a must visit when you are in Hamburg. The church gracefully dominates the area,

This is Hamburg's city hall or seat of local government. It's a very beautiful building and a very big one. The surroundings are also nice with the lake front road leading to the hall, a big square in the front with some street shops, Churches and other shopping area nearby. A nice place to spend your time around this. We couldn't visit the inside of the building as it was closed.

We had a great time on this tour. We booked the English speaking one and even though the Young girl hadn't done many she was really good. We learnt all about how the chocolate was made and had lots of tasting sections (some better than others!). We all loved making our own chocolate bars to take home. If your in Hamburg and have 90 mins free then definitely do this.

When the buzz of the city has got to you, walk along the shores, or hire a canoe or find a cafe; for calm.

This was a very thought provoking experience which was a highlight of our trip. We went as a group of 3 friends and found it very interesting to get a glimpse of what it is like to be blind. Our guide was very friendly and made you feel looked after and safe. It’s a very clever exhibition and also very different to normal sightseeing activities. Would definitely recommend

Did not expect it to be that big. 9 Floors plus 9 half floors, so much you can get lost and might miss things. So much to see but yu can get a nice overview in 2-3h as well. Very detailed and many maritime topics covered. Very impressive, nice cafe as well!

Have to walk along here, grab a bier or a fish supper. River cruises are epensive, best booked in advance - we enjoyed the evening lights one. Noisy at first, but calmer towards the end. Lots of ships; view Philharmonie etc
Suggest walk one way and get metro back to centre.

I'm not the biggest Udo Lindenberg fan but beeing in Hamburg made me visiting the museum. And I really enjoyed it. It's not so much a museum than a show. And it's done great. Lots of interaction and the time just flies by. Big recommendation.
