Beautiful, tranquil park around the castle. Walkable and near the centre of town where we had a nice lunch. Gorgeous fountains and architecture. We visited the tiny gift shop as well.

Enjoyed the audio tour of the palace and to learn about something completely new to me (Frederick the great, Prussian prince), it was also beautiful. It probably took us about an hour and a half and was easy to get here by bus from Potsdam train station.

A must see place where you can relax and just enjoy your time in a green garden. Beautiful green paradise in Potsdam.

My wife and I did a quick trip here from Berlin on New Year’s Eve. We took a train to Potsdam, taxi to the Cecilienhof, and an Uber back to the train station. Ubers were not a good option at the train station as they were all 15-20 minutes away.

We took a self-guided tour of the building where the Potsdam Conference meetings were held and the three leaders maintained offices. An audioguide is included in the cost of admission. It’s very informative and easy to operate. It cut off a few times but you can also read a transcription.

We spent an hour here and were quite impressed. Prior to visiting I had a general understanding of the Potsdam Conference. I learned quite a bit from our visit.

Definitely a must see sight if you are interested in World War 2 history.

The Neues Palais is located in the western part of the Park Sanssouci Park in Potsdam. A bus stop is located within a short walk from the visitor center, where timed tickets are available. Here you will also find a well stocked gift shop, a café and restrooms for a fee.

We visited on a Monday, where the Sanssouci Palace is closed, and chose to take the so called Grand Tour/King’s Apartment combined tour.

The Neues Palais was intended for official, representative needs and a showpiece to demonstrate the wealth of the Prussian state. Our tour guide did a great job explaining in detail several interesting details about the beautiful interior of this palace. Especially the Grotto Hall was impressive and very beautiful.

I visited in October at the start of autumn. The park near the church was very lovely and tranquil with the trees blooming in yellow. Take a stroll along the rows of red brick houses and admire the quaint architecture.

This a great site to visit with children (including young ones) especially during a cold weekend. The protected internal environment offers plenty and varied opportunities to learn about the world.

The park is really beautiful, there are flowers beds in front of the castle with different flowers. You can walk around or sit down on one of the benches and enjoy it. There is a small cafe like place at the back where you can have a drink. We saw only a small part of it right next to the castle and by the river but it is much bigger.

History laden river crossing where East met West. Nearby is the route of the wall along the water banks. A brass strip on the bridge marks the border.
