Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently visited the Topography of Terror and found it to be an excellent but sad exhibit. The exhibition provides a detailed look into the history of the Nazi regime and their atrocities committed during WWII. The exhibits were well curated and provided a comprehensive look into the past. The outdoor exhibits were also informative and well done. The exhibition was both educational and emotionally impactful, leaving me with a deeper understanding and sadness about the events that occurred during that time. I highly recommend a visit to the Topography of Terror for anyone interested in history and understanding the past.

Extremely detailed museum with a lot of information about rail, marine, aircraft! Basically everything abt tech! Extremely love the part of computers and aircraft! The queue to ticket is quite fast so not necessary to purchase ticket beforehand! Definitely suitable for family with kids as there are so many areas with lots of to learn and interact!

Visited on a recent city break to Berlin.

So, don’t totally appreciate modern art, but worth a visit. The building in purposely built to be “uncomfortable” and some really thought provoking exhibitions. The exhibit reflecting the Nazi treatment of the Jews is particularly thought provoking and some of the rooms really reflect the atmosphere.

Would recommend visiting if in Berlin

I recently visited the Berlin Story Bunker and found it to be an excellent exhibition. As a history teacher, I found the information and artifacts on display to be highly valuable in understanding the history of Berlin during WWII. The exhibits were well curated and provided a detailed look into the past. However, I was disappointed that photos were not allowed as I would have liked to share some of my experiences with my students. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Berlin Story Bunker for anyone interested in history.

Despite all the historical value it was really underwhelming to visit it. Like a glorified tollbooth surrounded by tourist traps. The highlight of my visit was going to McDonald’s and using the free wifi. Nothing like those Cold War movies that I watched. No thrill. No excitement. And it was freezing. I walked back to my hotel near the railway station and nearly froze to death.

Me and my girlfriend walked around the bars in Kreuzberg, bought vegetar-Balinese food at Maroush, and found some bars outside of the tourist streams, and they were great! East-Berlin is still different from west Berlin in terms of the more diverse population in Kreuzberg. The communist regime did not deliver prosperiy for the east, identifiable in the architecture.

Beautiful building, very nice permanent collection and, these days, a fantastic temporary exhibition on Hodler and Berlin. Extensive and interesting explanations provided. Really beautiful and extremely pleasant visit.

This is a very important street in central Berlin. It has some wonderful stores as well as the famous Checkpoint Charlie.

This is a good museum, but fair warning it is very text heavy. It’s not a quick museum visit, there are a lot of rooms and floors which is really great as it’s so detailed, but there is not an audioguide or anything so be prepared to read. It covers a lot more than just the wall, more of a view of politics over the course of the past 60 years. Very detailed, almost too much.

This market is worth a visit if you are a foodie. Great stuff. I was looking for some schabefleisch and found it here, with some fresh baked rolls. Visit.

I love Kreuzberg and this is one of the nicest streets of the neighborhood. It is a busy, lively colorful street filled with stores, unique shops and restaurants offering foods from all over the world. You can find fancy boutiques and thrift shops on the same block. Fun area to leisurely walk and explore.

Odd but interesting museum. Its small and you will have a hard time finding it (on the third level of a block of flats, down a side street). But it is certainly interesting showing every day objects from Germany and how style and production changed and how it was different East from West.

Kind of grungy looking park with a hillock in the middle, definite local folk ambiance, many folks lounging on the hillside watching the sunset on lazy summer evenings, there's a nice little artificial waterfall running down the hill from the bastion on the top, with people having a bath, children splashing around, running barefoot down the footpath, cute and funny. The monument at the top of the hill features a sculpture dedicated to the Napoleonic liberation wars. One has nice views of the park and the city from the monument's platform. In fact on summer evenings there can be quite a few people lounging on the steps, taking pictures, talking, enjoying a beer. Nice vibe. At the foot of the hill, down the path along the waterfall, there is a little pond featuring a sculpture called "Rare haul" (Der seltene Fang) by Herter, depicting a fisherman struggling to catch a mermaid. Cool visit.
