Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful breathtaking museum and you get an audio guide with your ticket with clear instructions on how to use it. I highly recommend visiting it.

A beautiful collection of Egyptian pharaonic monuments. You get an audio tour with the ticket. 3 floors and big space for the exhibition. I recommend it for those who love Egyptian history.

This is a magnificent despair of Wall art. Nicely presented and grouped by subject and nation of origin. But, the entire Italian wing was closed for some reason, and that was very disappointing. Make sure you plan enough time for this experience. It is a huge collection. We took at least three hours.

The collection really only covers the period from 1800 onwards and there is a particular focus on German artists. There is a small Impressionist collection with some of the key artists from that movement represented. There is a room full of works by Caspar David Friedrich, whose work I was introduced to in Hamburg and also Max Liebermann, who was an influential German impressionist. These three collections made the visit very rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed my half day there except for the interactions with over officious attendants. If I rated the visit on the attendants it would be zero. The first time my wife and I endeavored to see the gallery we had our 12 month old grandson with us in a pram. We were told in no uncertain terms that no prams were allowed and we would have to leave it in the cloak room area and carry him. We chose not to. Yet, taking our grand daughter to the two main galleries in Brisbane in a pram is not an issue. The next time we went without our grandson and we both had run ins with officials - my wife with something to do with the water bottle she was carrying and me because the small satchel I have around my neck, which passed inspection with the attendants at the entrance and didn't have to go into the cloak room (I checked with them) didn't pass muster with an attendant in one of the galleries, who informed me that I must hold it close into the front of my torso rather than have it hanging at my side - I just quickly left that gallery and went to others where it didn't raise an eye brow. I guess it's a boring job.

This Bode-Museum was formerly called the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, and is the UNESCO World Heritage site. It was built from 1898 to 1904 by order of German Emperor William II and has been done up in Baroque Revival style. There are multiple rooms housing various artefacts from 700AD onwards.

Part of the State Museum system, this museum houses one of the world's largest collections of Picassos and Paul Klees, as well as an impressive number of Cezannes. The Picassos are arranged in chronological order, so that the one can compare his early work to his later and also notice how Picasso returned to some of his early themes later in life. The temporary exhibit of paintings and constructions by mid-20th-Century Swiss-born artist Peter Thompkins was also worthwhile. BTW: I tried to figure out how to alert TripAdvisor that this fine museum is NOT closed but couldn't figure out how to do so.

A very interesting museum looking at the life and work of this inspirational artist. The depth of her talent was amazing. It’s a pity that her work is not better known

As you likely know, this place can only be visited by pre-booking a tour. I would strongly encourage you to do so.

You may know it's history: a war time bunker, a banana warehouse, a techno club & now a private art gallery.

The couple who now own the building have generously opened their doors for private tours. Their style is contemporary art. The tour guide we had really knew his stuff & greatly added to our enjoyment of viewing the pieces. Sometimes (sadly) with contemporary art you need a bit of an explanation of where the artist is coming from & what they were conceptualizing.

It is quite a massive building with gigantic floors & walls. The architecture itself is pretty cool. At the risk of sounding a bit pretentious I would say this is a must visit in Berlin for art aficionados.

Great place to explore the history of Greece, Rome and more. I recommend to have audio because there are lots of statues. Reading them one by one will be hard.

If the weather is sunny, and you fancy a few hours outside the city, then a visit to Wannsee and the Liebermann villa is to be highly recommended. Max Liebermann was one of Germany's foremost painters in the early part of the twentieth century. The villa and its garden was built for him, completed 1910. Take the S7 to Wannsee station, and then either 20 minutes walk, or 2 stops on the bus, brings you to the property. 10 euros entrance (September 2020). There are a dozen or so of his paintings on display. There are also displays (in english and german) on the (jewish) family, the house, and the garden. The garden, which has been restored to how it was when the Liebermann family lived there, runs down to the lake. It is a joy. Coffee on the terrace is wonderful. The villa is one of many fine houses on the banks of the Wannsee lake and surrounding waterways. Lakes cruises of 1.5 hours duration are well worth doing. Boats leave from the jetty some 5 minutes walk from the S bahn; on the way to the Liebermann villa.
