Wonderful tour and delightful day! The small group option was such a treat. Our guide Ursula was wonderful with the perfect amount of stories and history. She not only explained the castles we visited but gave insight about things we saw as we traveled.

Aileen, our tour director was very knowledgeable and gave us a good overview of the castle and King Ludwig. She went above and beyond to even make dinner reservations for us. We loved our day!

Small group tour of the Eagle's Nest and Berchtesgaden with Mentor Reisen Tours. Francesca was the tour guide and she was excellent! On the drive to the Eagle's Nest she gave lots of information about the history of Bavaria, the Nazi Party and Hitler. No furnishings remain in the interior of the Eagle's Nest (it is now a restaurant and cafe), but the views of the surrounding area are spectacular! Berchtesgaden is a nice town with lots of historic buildings as well as stores for shopping. If you are interested in visiting these sights from Munich, I highly recommend Mentor Reisen Tours for a great experience!

We took Alun’s tour today; he manages to put the horror of the Third Reich and it’s prototype extermination camp in respectful human terms. He knows his stuff, presents it clearly and answers the questions honestly.
He also managed the group well - getting there requires a bus and a train in each direction and he was prepared with tickets, timetables and herding directions. We really recommend this tour.

Franziska was a great guide and provided much historical context on King Ludwig II and the castles. Make sure you bring cash to pay for admission to castles on bus.

It was a lovely experience and beautiful places to see. The tour guide was very helpful (albeit very quiet).

Amir is the BEST and this tour was absolutely perfect! He is so friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We highly recommend Amir and this tour. Although Neuschwanstein was amazing as anticipated, Oberammergau and the Abbey were unexpected highlights as well. Having the privacy and flexibility of our own tour and guide was the way to go, and we expect to see Amir again on future visits.

We got the tickets for the tourist bus as a last minute option while organising other tours from Radius Tours in the station. We were offered a walking tour, but as it was raining on 27/12 we didn't fancy it so took the hop-on-hop-off bus option.

In general it was very good. We did the first 'loop' around the city from and back to the Hauptbahnhof, before changing buses to do the extended part of the tour - out to the Allianz Arena, Olympic Park, BMW tower etc.

The audio guide provided a lot of interesting information via the free headphones, but as could be expected, the audio was synchronised with the ability of the bus to be where it was meant to be at the correct time. Sometimes this didn't happen due to traffic etc. and we were often hearing about buildings and other sights we had not yet reached, so that was a little frustrating.

Also the on-board guide would be narrating in German via her microphone, which often over-rode the multi-lingual narration available to the passengers via their headphones, so we didn't always get the best information possible due to this.

All in all a very good way to see the entire city and a bit beyond in one day - great for a weekend getaway - and the fact you can get off at any point, have a look around and take the next bus on the route is an advantage. We would have done this at a number of points had it not been raining, but it was still worth the price.

We bought a 24hr ticket which is valid for 24hrs, not just one working day, but there is also a 48hr option.

We took the train from Munich to Fussen - very easy to navigate. I purchased the Castle tickets and online from the castle directly and the train tickets online from Deutsch Bahn. It was a beautiful fall day in September 2019 - we toured Neuschwanstein first and then Hohenschwangau. You definitely want to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. My friend and I are in good physical shape so we walked the incline mile to Neuschwanstein - there are also busses and horse and buggy that will deliver you if you don't wish to exercise. The tours are well run and very interesting and the Castle's and settings are spectacular! We ended up walking 8 miles that day so if you're up for it, it's a great day and you'll get a good workout in as well!

We had a really great day touring Bavaria with Siegmund. Despite rain all day, we still got to see everything we wanted to- Neuschwanstein, Garmisch, Linderhof Palace, Alpine Lake and many more. Siegmund was a great guide, personalizing our day to sights we wanted to see. His history lessons were informative and his anecdotal stories kept us amused throughout the day. Siegmund even stopped to purchase us umbrellas and ponchos to keep us dry!
    Thank you Siegmund!

I visited Munich with 2 friends and we signed up for a Newschwanstein Private Tour from Munich. The tour guide was Jake Doherty owner of All Things Garmisch-Day Tours. His knowledge of the history of the castle and ancient history relating to the areas we toured was awesome. He is an extremely interesting person and a wealth of knowledge. I would definitely hire him for a tour if I was to visit the area again. We had a great time with him. I would highly recommend his tour.

Our private tour with Amir of Special Private Tours was outstanding in every way. Everything went smoothly, from the registration, to pickup and drop off at our hotel, and all the activities. The private van was comfortable and spacious. Amir was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting interesting information about the . We felt fortunate that he was able to customize the trip based on our preferences, and provided valuable tips for maximizing the benefit of our time. At one stop, he showed us the most amazing pretzel we have ever had. This private tour was definitely the highlight of our trip. Highly recommended!
