- OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary2,212 contributionsVisiting the Citadelle de Saint-Tropez - Musee d'histoire maritime is must.

Wonderful to actually see the sites they painted right outside the door.Written 31 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mortimer1995Zurich, Switzerland135 contributionsEverybody loves Louis De Funès - his films are comedy classics, especially the "Gendarme" films. And that's the reason to visit this place. Lovely decorated and brought into the present, we have the chance to live through some of Cruchot & Gerber's adventures. Yes, there is Brigitte Bardot, Romy Schneider and Alain Delon, too. But we're here for our beloved Louis.
He's dead since 1983 and his films still keep him alive, especially on TV. To be able to come near him a bit, is both charming and touching. Therefore you take this trip down memory lane and enjoy indeed the memories.
The museum is not too extensive, but it gives you a lovely impression what happened here in the 60s. You wish Louis De Funès would be here himself, but of course he is not. The world is a different one than 1964. And the only way to go back in time is this museum and then watch a DVD. There are many cafes to dine at while enjoying the view of the harbor (and the yachts) and the surrounding buildings. We were here on a beautiful sunny day and it was very enjoyable.Written 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary2,212 contributionsPlace des Lices Market is a cool square. We ended up in here after visiting the Citadel of Saint-Tropez - Museum of Maritime History. We enjoyed watching people paying petanque.Written 20 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AncaAnncaBucharest, Romania262 contributionsIt was a really unique experience as we weren't thinking we would come across a cemetery on our walk. The place overlooks the beautiful sea and the scenery is quite interesting.Written 23 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- kvkarinvandeurenAvignon, France13 contributionsIt is only small but quite quaintly done. It is set up by one person only, who is not only a butterfly lover, but has artistic ideas as well. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, so we had quite some background info and he answered our questions.

- Thomas KMonte-Carlo, Monaco1,108 contributionsWhen I was young this was still used by woman to wash their laundry and have a chat with neighbors. Later it became a part-time art exposition, today you would call it a pop up. It is still worth a visit even only for 5 minutes, near the center of town .Written 26 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia25,878 contributionsPierre Andre de Suffren was a famous Frencg Admiral born in 1729 and was famous for his battles against the British around the 1770's and 1780's. At least five French naval ships have been named after him. Too bad the statue gets somewhat lost amid the restaurants.Written 17 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
