We were lucky enough to visit many castles in France, but never any similar to this one. It's really charming, off the beaten track in the middle of the wonderful Auge region in Normandy. We thought the whole site was very well maintained, both the castle and the garden. We also loved the medieval frescoes in the first room and the section where they tell you about the castle history. Worth a visit!

If you are a devotee of St Thérèse or want to experience her story (Story of A Soul) of her childhood memories, a visit to Les Buissonnets will bring them to life. I’ve been here several times and each time I savor the life and teachings of Thérèse. It helps to read her manuscript before going for a greater appreciation. Nearby visit the Carmel on rue du Carmel and see her relics, Chapel where she served and place where she spent her last 9 years until age 24. The Basilica of St Thérèse and St Pierre Cathedral are also amazing places to experience the saints lives including hers and her father St Louis as well as her sisters

Parts of this church date back over 800 years and is well worth a look around. There are a number of interesting references to St Therese and her family.

Surprising and restful formal garden located behind the cathedral or church. A side of the garden has been transformed into a children’s playground.the park was nicely landscaped and maintained, which provided a nice spot to pause during a walk of Lisieux. The cathedral nearby is undergoing massive repairs. On the other side of the cathedral there’s another paved square with several nearby places for food, from bakery, to gyro, to nice sit-down options.

I was so lucky to find this building, quite magnificent with narrow stairs and so very old and well cared for- every level had artifacts, paintings, pottery etc from earliest times until the present day. The 2 girls who showed me around were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the museum, well worth a visit

There are two cemeteries adjacent to each other, and joined by an ‘avenue of peace’. One is dedicated to the Allies, mainly the British, and the other to the German forces. Both are very well maintained and a poignant and fitting tribute to those who died in this conflict, and to those who suffered the loss of their loved ones.

We are occasional visitors to Lisieux and when we can, we try to go for a swim at the Nautile. We "try" because it is hardly ever open to the public at times when it should be. In England, pools are open from 7am to 8 or 9 in the evening so that working people can have a swim before or after work and it should be open all day at the weekend!!! As it is, you cannot get in before 10am on Saturdays during school holidays, 2pm during term time and it is shut on Sunday afternoon!! Absolutely ludicrous that such a facility is not made more widely available to the general public. This being said, we like the place a lot: it is clean and welcoming. It is not huge but the two main areas work well for those who want to swim and those who want to mess around in water or relax in the jets after their power swim. The water temperature in both pools is just right. So, keep up the good work and keep the lights on longer!!!!

This 15th century church was badly damaged during WWII. It was remade to be safe, but it's no longer a functioning church. Instead, it's now an exhibition centre.

When there are exhibitions, you can enter the place and see several of the original furnitures that survived.

Lovely people when coach arrived they provided maps and lady called a taxi to take us to Basilica after advising it was within walking distance. We needed the taxi as can't walk uphill easily for health...down was fine. Kind people. Thank you.

Awesome experience there with delicate managers and very helpful. The site is amazing, , with a one-conquer-all floor ! Stuff is pretty modern. Rate is affordable and there is even a happy hour time which become very cheap.
