- Carmen L1 contributionMy husband and I went on this tour a few days ago. We were hesitant at first and thought that we could visit the Louvre without a guide. I’m happy that we decided against this and got this tour ticket!
Hamish was an amazing tour guide and had lots of knowledge about the artworks in the Louvre. We learnt a lot during this tour. Not just about the history of The Louvre and its artworks but also about art appreciation and interpretation. It made us appreciate art and artists a lot more than before!
My partner and I also really loved how enthusiastic Hamish was and open to answering any questions that we had about the paintings and statues. However I called customer service and they sent me a different ticket and I got in. This is a timed ticket not a skip the line ticket. I waited about 30 minutes to get in. The museum is overwhelming and I’d recommend only going in with a guide. I thought I’d handle one section at a time. And it took me 45 minutes to finally get out of the museum. The signage is not adequate. Rooms are numbered but with small signs high up above doorframes and pale colors. I understand that they want subtle. But it makes it difficult to find your way. Do not ride the Tuk Tuk, no matter what you are experiencing.
Buy a train ticket at the kiosk, better still buy a ticket on the Eurostar train. Do not buy a week travel card.
Eat locally to where you are staying, and most people will have some Anglaise, but do make an effort with some Francaise.

Too many rides that were just themed roller coasters rather than an experience related to the theme , a good example is the Indiana Jones ride which is a great ride in LA but just a roller coaster in Paris. The Disney Studios Park was really sparse and not many rides.
