It is a beautiful beach, one of the best in Corsica or even in Europe. Only complaint, we went in September and the parking lots were closed, so parking was not easy.

We sailed across from Sardinia and preferred this to the islands off Sardinia as it was much quieter and more peaceful. The water was crystal clear, incredible fish life so we snorkelled for hours. Cute beaches and rocky headlands to explore on foot. Such a peaceful place to sleep on anchorage

We find Santa Guilia better than Palombaggio Beach.
The water is calm, clear and shallow for quite a long distance. Perfect for children.

My wife and I are currently visiting Calvi - staying at the delightful Hostellerie de L’Abbaye (Review to follow) - and earlier today we visited the famous Citadel.

Indeed, it’s difficult to come to Calvi and not to spend at least some time in the Citadel. Best to do so - as we did - with a guide to provide some historical perspective but, if not, there are some interesting things to see and some great views of both the Port and surrounding areas.

Something - in my opinion - not to be missed!!

If travelling as a foot passenger from Marseille, make sure you go to the foot passenger terminal and not the car entrance (where google maps seems to take you). Unhelpfully, the exact location of the foot passenger terminal isn't on Corsica Linea's website at the time of writing.

The exact location of the foot passenger terminal is:

    Gare maritime piétons Corse,
4982 Quai de la Joliette, 13002 Marseille, France

Other than not knowing where to go to get on the ferry and subsequently nearly missing it, Corsica Linea had really good service, good value food and nice to have a selection of films to watch in our cabin on the Marseille-Ajaccio ferry.

Very steep however there are handrails to help. I suggest only doing this if in good fitness levels as it's strenuous especially in the heat. You are required to wear hard hats due to the the way the staircase is carved, to ensure safety, however mostly fine unless you are very tall. It costs €5 pp (Sept 22).

This is a beautiful little chapel, well worth a visit. The views are truly spectacular.
There are some curious reviews on this website, awarding fewer than five stars because the walk up to the chapel is not very well signposted, and there are some tracks that peter out! Difficult to understand how the chapel is responsible for this. Consulting online maps is never failsafe... be prepared! It is a steep, yet very rewarding, climb if you avoid the main road.
Other reviewers have awarded fewer than five stars because the chapel is closed when they arrive. A simple online check documents the daily opening times.
This is a lovely walk (both up and down), to a chapel with memorable views.

Too many boats, driven by too many unrespectful people. The local government should block them before, as it happens in Lotu.

Really quite a spectacular view and experience.
One not to miss if you’re visiting the area.
Bathing in the pools is so refreshing and revitalising!!
    Really relaxed atmosphere too.

Some advice: Bring some water and something to eat/cash with you as the local restaurant only takes cash, no exceptions.

Wonderful boat ride to the Grotto but very crowed when you arrive at the Grotto. Many steps to climb up and down so not handicapped accessible or for anyone with walking problems. Some steps are very steep. If you can walk, its very beautiful once inside.

We went in August, but somehow the beach still had enough space such that it didn't seem overflowing with people. Waters were crystal clear, and the waves were not too strong. A great find!
