Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- TravelBugCxPerth, Australia190 contributionsWhat a truly wonderful experience to witness the love and care the rangers have for the beautiful creatures in this sanctuary. The grounds and facilities are very well kept. All animals and birds look healthy and happy, being fed to suit their breed, needs and rehab. It was with so much pleasure (and good fortune given the weather I was the only visitor!) to experience the birds of prey, owls, and countless other aminals in the grounds as well as the petting barn. Chloe, Evie and Darragh were so connected to the animals and their role as carers. I truly appreciate seeing this bond and reciprocated love and joy. Thanks for a memorable experience. - ailuro141 contributionsWe thoroughly enjoyed this 3.8 mile /6.1 km walk though there were more inclines than some reviews suggested. Not very steep but something to mention if anyone has mobility issues. The paths are in good condition and level from side to side, so no need for "Haggis walking"
Great variety of views, as always remember to check behind you every so often, sometimes the view backwards is noteworthy too.
We got a great day for our walk though it was the second week of October.
The free car park can be found on Google maps by adding "Benbulben Walk" There's a coach park also, lots of spaces in the car park.Written 11 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Magdalena R7 contributionsProbably my best experience in Ireland so far. Ruairi and Seamus were super nice and very patient. We came completely unprepared which was no problem at all. We got all the equipment needed and then the fun began. Even though i am a total beginner and the others were way better than me, Ruairi and Seamus made sure i cought some good waves. Defenitely check out this place, totally worth it! Will come back :)Written 7 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Graham_mcrGorteen, Ireland62 contributionsHiked Benwisken on a Saturday in November. There was a small group of about 7 none of which I knew beforehand. All lovely people which all helps to make the experience more enjoyable. The day was cloudy so the views weren’t as good as I’d have hoped for, still it was great day out. Barry the guide is brilliant, he has great knowledge of the terrain the history of the area and the flora. The hikes are always at a leisurely pace giving time to enjoy the surroundings. I’ve been on a few hikes with North west Adventures tours now and all have been top class. I’d definitely recommend them.Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Carol RGreenwood Village, CO106 contributionsThe weather was rainy and windy early in the morning. They postponed our trip for 2 hrs later; smart move or we would be chumming the fish. It was still a little bumpy and rainy going out but once out (not to the Atlantic though) it was calm and nice. It was the first time to fish for mackerel for us and what fun…3 fish at one time! What fun! Capt Darryl was very nice, cordial, knew his stuff, and fun! Highly recommend him! - Jordan B1 contributionAuriel was an amazing guide! We really enjoyed our hike and appreciated her archaeological knowledge. She shared so much information with us about the area and has a wonderful personality. We're grateful she could include us on a hike with another group last minute. Lots of his friends attended. They were full of stories after the camp.
Weather wasn't an issue.

- Tracey CDublin, Ireland1 contributionWe spent the May bank holiday in Sligo & booked a surf lesson for the Sunday morning. The location is perfect with ample parking & right beside the Strandhill Markets, bonus! There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere from start to finish. Tom & Abdel were friendly, encouraging & attentive and we never felt under any pressure. Tom took some photos too which was lovely. It was such an enjoyable morning & despite some sore arms today we all agreed we’d be back. We needed to leave a bit early & this wasn’t a problem. Wetsuits were in excellent condition with boots provided & the facilities were clean & hygienic. I’d definitely recommend to friends. 🏄♀️🙏🏼Written 6 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
