Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Queen Maeve's Grave may be found after about an hour long hike up Knocknarea. If you start on the rugby club side of the mountain the path take a picturesque tour through some trees while you balance on a raised wooden walkway. I nearly gave up a couple of times but the sense of accomplishment is certainly worth it. The views from the top are spectacular. Queen Maeve's Grave is a huge pile of stones and while not structurally impressive, I can't image the investment in manhours it took to erect.

Easy to get to from sligo town, lovely places to sit and watch the ocean. Nice cafe and bars close by to eat. Plenty of parking available in nearby parking lot if none available right beside the beach.
Not ideal for swimming, surfing is popular.

Such a lovely waterfall and the walk to it is lovely a little bit tough but doable. It took about 40mins but so worth it when you get to the top. The views are just amazing, if u are taking a trip to sligo this is definitely a must do.

A beautiful peaceful place which reminds us of how our faith was persecuted in the past and how the Irish people and their holy priests had to hold secret Masses putting their lives at risk. Hundreds of Irish priests were murdered as they are today in other parts of the world. We do not appreciate our freedom to practce religion enough. The site is beautifully kept, the stations of the cross, the altar and statues are all beautiful. 🔥🙏

On our flight from JFK to Dublin, my partner and I were chatting with a woman who turned out to be from Sligo, and who was surprised we were visiting. She told us to visit Eagles Flying. My partner loves animals so we were already considering it, but she convinced us. We had a great time. You do not need to book, you just turn up at the appointed time (two sessions each day) and pay a very reasonable 15 euro. A staff member gives you a tour of the property, does the show with a good selection of birds, and then lets you into a petting area where you can meet foxes, pigs, bunnies, sheep and others. The staff here is enthusiastic and warm, the animals are very well looked after, and the setting is beautiful. We learned a lot and felt like each visitor got good attention. Do not hesitate - visit Eagles Flying and learn about their work!

We walked the village loop walk, down by the river, to the clan castle and back. We got to see a friendly donkey and horse on the way out…watched the surfers negotiate big-ass wave at the pier and had a quick look at the history of the clan castle before we returned.

A nice quick, stop on the WAW.

We picnicked here on a cloudy day. Deep forest, a nice view up the lake, and shelter from the rain shower. An easy walk down to Lough Gill and a welcome escape from the narrow, winding roads.

This is a really beautiful and peaceful walk around the stunning Lough Talt. The walk around the trail is beautiful and well done, the loop goes onto the main road which is dangerous and really busy so it might be an idea for families to just walk back along the trail. The views are stunning. The turn into the lake comes kind of suddenly and it’s narrow enough so take care. Plenty of car parking there too.

Lough Gara riding stables can be summed up by the wonderful experience provided by the owners and staff. This is truly a wonderful experience, our children have never been happier than when they we’re taking part in the pony camp or the birthday parties hosted here. I cannot praise Adrienne, Jimmy and staff enough. They really do provide a wonderful caring and memorable experience. We have gone here for the last 3 or 4 years and would recommend anyone to take part in the experience. Thank you so much Jimmy and Adrienne

Signs say park in the village, however there is quite a bit of parking at the base of the climb. The climb is strenuous enough but no problem for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. We met someone on his way up who suffrered from COPD and he was struggling. The climb is well worthwhile, as much for the views as for the caves
