Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On first ever visit to Strandhill heard there was a market on so decided to check it out and we really enjoyed it. Excellent layout and lots of outdoor seating. Would recommend.

A fabulous market with a great selection of stalls, definitely well worth a visit. It’s great for home made baking and lovely hand made crafts. I particularly liked the stall that had a great selection of crocheted items.

I was in Sligo for one month, the first week I was there I visited the Model and I found it fascinating. Recently they opened two other exhibitions and of course I had to go back and see them so I visited The Model one more time. The two new exhibitions are amazing and the cafè there is lovely. The staff is polite and very helpful. The building is completely accessible, with automated doors, a lift and corridors wide enough for wheelchairs.

My daughter and I strolled in and tried on some hats, initially for fun but I tried a beautiful Italian trilby style hat and I had to buy it, it’s hardly left my head since. The interaction with the staff was great, we initially wanted to browse on our own but when deciding to buy the fantastic staff explained the product and we went through a few options before committing. I have bought a jacket there 15 years ago which is still in perfect condition, the quality of the products there is very high and made to last.

beautiful gallery with bold, contemporary thought provoking art. definitely worth a visit when exploring sligo. They have monthly exhibitions throughout the year exhibiting solo and group exhibitions with a range of different works of art including sculpture and paintings.

Sweet because everything is homemade. We had scones and coffee cake. They were great. Coffee is delicious and it's proper tea..We didnt have mains but judging by the quality of the food we had I suspect it's great.

Ideal stop if you are travelling that stunning drive from Sligo to Ballina
Perfect if you are cycling and need a pit stop.

Staff are relaxed helpful and friendly.

Mysterious because it's called the Village cafe now and it's invisible online!

Easy to find. You reach the Ncf agricultural store and it's across the road.

Deserves to be packed! Go find it when it's still quiet.

If you want to eat in a comfortable, atmospheric, traditional and busy Boutique style Cafe ( being busy tells you all you really need to know) then look no further than The Henry Lyons Cafe Restaurant on the first floor of the department store of the same name in the centre of Sligo . There are many good places to eat in sligo and I have tried a lot of them but if I had to choose the this is the place.
The food is all freshly made on the premises and all the dishes look appetising and tasty but the reason I go there is to enjoy the best hot sandwiches you will find outside Dublin . Freshly prepared and brought to your table it is a feast for the eyes and a treat for your palate . The pulled pork with sticky Oriental sauce is the best I have had outside of Louisiana USA and the Lebanese chicken with fresh garlic mayo
    is not far behind.
In a nut shell lift your eyes up from street level and make the journey upstairs for food
you will make a journey back to Sligo for especially the sandwich selection, it was so good my wife asked to speak to the chef who visited our table to tell us just what effort goes into the food available in this tucked away gem of an eatery.
Many thanks and will will definitely be back.

This irish handcrafted gift shop is a must visit!! The shop is filled with beautiful irish handmade and handcrafted products ranging from Jewellery, ceramics, wood, paintings and lots of cute little gifts. Its one of a kind in sligo. It also has a lovely Art Gallery upstairs which adds to the whole experience.
I would highly recommend this shop to anyone especially tourists and people who are looking the perfect gift for somebody as no doubt there is something for all ages!

I needed to use the toilets, which are upstairs. Good job there is a lift. The disabled was in use (I am disabled), so had to go into the ladies. There are 5 loos. There was not any toilet paper in any of them. Went back out and disabled was empty, I found that it was nearly out of toilet paper. So if you can avoid these toilets unless you have a loo roll in your bag.
