Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Fotheringay8 contributionsA great traditional Irish pub. The best we found for friendly barstaff and music in the back room. The atmosphere was perfect and relaxed after a day of walking. The beer was also spot on.Written 16 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The bar greets visitors with the cozy glow of an open fire and the authentic warmth of Irish hospitality, making you feel immediately welcomed.
Owned by Tom, who takes immense pride in the establishment's rich history, Blousers stands out not just as a place to enjoy a drink, but as a cultural experience. Tom is particularly fond of recounting the story of how, two decades ago, the pub was featured in a Guinness commercial. The advert famously championed the value of personal interaction over watching TV in pubs, a philosophy that resonates in the atmosphere of Blousers to this day. The legacy of that message is palpable, as the pub buzzes with lively conversations among locals and visitors alike, creating a vibrant social tapestry.
Blousers is more than just a pub; it's a community hub where the art of conversation thrives. The absence of televisions encourages patrons to engage with one another, sharing stories and laughter. The charm of this approach is undeniable, and it captures the essence of traditional Irish socializing.
Of course, no visit to Blousers would be complete without sampling a pint of Guinness or two poured to perfection. The experience is elevated by the quality of the craic and conversation. Enjoying a pint here feels like being a local whilst being away from your own local.
For anyone looking to immerse themselves in genuine Irish culture, Blousers is a must-visit. It offers not just a drink, but an invitation to be part of a community, to enjoy the warmth of an open fire, and to indulge in the simple joy of a good old chat. It's an experience that embodies the spirit of Ireland and leaves visitors with lasting memories of their time in Westport.Written 4 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A welcome for allWritten 30 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Rachelle Lee R7 contributionsWe got a tip from a local that they had early trad on Saturdays from 6-8 pm. It wasn’t crowded—very easy to get a seat before the music started. We got there before the dinner service started and bartender said we’d be waited on when evening server staff arrived. They arrived, and walked past us multiple times, but no one checked on us so had to go ask. Server didn’t seem very on top of it, but they looked very young. Food was delicious—husband had lamb stew and I had veggie soup w/ brown bread.Written 8 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
