The staff at Westport House is wonderful. We had tours from Moirin and Ben, who were both great -- very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Breda was also incredibly helpful and made our visits worthwhile and enjoyable. - P RBelfast, UK46 contributionsWe really enjoyed the Greenway. We started in Westport and finished in Achill Island. It wasn't overly busy. There was plenty of car parking available in Westport. There is restricted parking on the main streets, so I would recommend the pay and display option. The greenway starting point in Westport is located beside the Mayo College or near the Lidl. Once you're on the Greenway, it's great. No worrying about cars and other cyclists and people walking are very respectful of each other. - Den L2 contributionsGreat place to go for a few hours. Wasn’t sure about whats included in the different bundles but that was explained in person it was easier. The climbing tower always had a queue it was quite popular. The slides and nets were great fun and a great way to make friends. - Grace O'Malley51 contributionsA great thing to do with little ones. Staff were really friendly. Soft play was great! Drinks and snacks available for parents and children. My only criticism is that the football/basket ball section is a bit neglected with a broken basket ball hoop and deflated balls. It is very important to support the local arts amenities and performers. - Sean O’MahonyCork, Ireland30 contributionsThe only proper sandy beach close to Westport. Bertra is a long isthmus stretching out into Clew Bay, so if it's too windy to swim on the sandy west side, you can swim on the stonier, but sheltered east side.
I swam on both sides and enjoyed both.
Great views of Croagh Patrick
Good car park and facilities.
Lifeguards for most of the day.
