Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- ann c6 contributionsThis is a castle that is not "restored" but rather kept up for historical and educational purposes. The displays and presentations are self-paced and very interesting and educational. I learned a lot about the history of Ireland in about 1.5 hours. This is not a "glamour" castle or one to romanticize about with fancy stuff. The cathedral next door is interesting as well, especially in light of the wars and lives lost over the centuries. Little kids would be bored.Written 20 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ana cBologna, Italy17 contributionsWell worth a visit especially if you love stained glass windows. Some excellent historic notes too, and a time line of what was going on around the world at the time. I did find the €5 entrance fee a bit strange, it's a working church, normal church service takes place every week. I'm not sure the parishioners pay to pray, but I paid and enjoyed my walk around.Written 6 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sherikallaWrentham, MA8 contributionsIf in Limerick be sure to spend a few hours in this amazing museum! Though small when thinking of museums, their collection was extensive, impressive and just amazing! I also enjoyed lunch in the cafe and was approached by a docent who shared more details on the exhibit I was viewing at the time. Every staff member was friendly and the exhibits were beautifully presented and explained. Don't miss this museum - it's small, but mighty!Written 8 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- laura-moraesgUberlandia, MG363 contributionsLovely place with so many options for everything you can think of... things for the house, tools, plants, vegetables, fruits, fish, meats... You can stay there for hours watching the stalls. So many foods and desserts that I left wanting to go back, because I wanted to taste much more and I couldn't.
I'm not sure if it's free to enter the place, because one day we entered for free, but the next they were charging to enter. I don't know if there was any specific event or what.Written 30 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's a beautiful cathedral, cavernous inside with real serenity and character.
Beauful altar and statuary. It's just a gorgeous place to sit awhile and pray or contemplate.Written 4 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay 031 contributionsGreat space for a gallery. Very serene and great light in most of the rooms. Peaceful most of the time on a Sunday anyway and right next to the park so the kids can go mad afterwards. Swanzy exhibition was excellent as was Ryan (what is that white dog/llama). O'Dwyer was waaaay over my head. Very abstract. Kids thought it was mad but good to expose them to different versions of Art.Written 8 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David BWest Jefferson, NC4,939 contributionsWe did not have a chance to stop and see the church but we did get a few pictures for our trip album. - Sara7420Dublin, Ireland49 contributionsWe spent about an hour in the Limerick City Museum. Its small but comprehensive exhibits about the city’s industrial and social past in particular were very well done. It’s free to enter and provides an interesting background to Limerick.Written 19 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - J. O'Shaughnessy1 contributionMy experience is personal and redeeming. Suffice it to say that I now go to confession in the Redemptorist Church frequently- a massive turn-about in my life for which I am most grateful. I would recommend anyone, no matter what their fears or imagined hopelessness to do as I did- try it out, you have nothing to lose- but will experience forgiveness, peace, contentment and a powerful release from guilt, despair, fear and doom. If I could do it- so can anyone.Written 28 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
