Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- sexysunFt Worth, tx198 contributionsSo interesting. History is actually more current. Take the lead tour to get more insight. American connection is fascinating.Written 26 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Walter PBrantford, Canada85 contributionsAs a Canadian our idea of history pales in comparison to how old things are in Europe. This was a beautiful Cathedral with and amazing history to it. I would recommend everyone pay the extra and climb up the round tower. It gives a great view of the town and also gives you a feel for what they had to endure if attacked and had to hold up in the tower.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amber C1 contributionOne of a kind experience. You’ll walk the property to see ruins of a lost village and see border collies at work. Joe and Shep were amazing.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Brenster75Fundao, Portugal21 contributionsGreat day out at the park. We did the Octagon & Zipline package. The staff were very professional and friendly. They hooked us up to the harnesses and checked everyone was prepared and made us practice before we climbed on to the game. The Octagon was a workout trying to balance at a height. The zipline is great fun, I was nervous as I was due launch from drop off point, but the staff member was lovely, and she put me at ease. Once you get moving it is a thrill and over in a flash, but the views over the park as you move across it are beautiful. I can't wait to go back.Written 2 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Melissa M12 contributionsExcellent tour given by the owner. You have to request a tour by email or phone. - Kerstin D1 contributionA very surprising visit, with immensely large trees from all over the world, planted 150 yrs ago. For instance you'll fins the largest sequioa tree in Europe. We were amazed by the Noble fir walk and the rhododendrons which were huge. We had no idea what to expect when we entered the garden and the arboretum, but it turned out to be a real secret garden, hidden in the hills above Inistioge. Well worth a visit, €5 entrance and you get to stroll around as long as you like and enjoy the results of the architectural mind of Lady Louisa Tighe from 150yrs agoWritten 29 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - _mojomargeNewry, UK31 contributionsWhat a fantastic little gem in Thomastown. The fact that it's up near the top of the street might mean it's easily missed but we were delighted to have found it. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside and had a stroll around the lovely quirky garden and a good look at the plants for sale. It has wonderful staff who are part of the Camphill Community and that made it even more special for us.Written 25 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pete S1 contributionThe atmosphere was awesome! The owner, Fred was a great host, and provided a local vocalist/guitarist, Johnny for some great folk music. He also explained the game of Hurling, and let us take a wings swings in his garden. Food, spirits, great hospitality. It doesn’t get any better.Written 27 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Max_from_NYNew York282 contributionsDidn't take long for us to fall in love with this place. The server gave us good recommendations for trying a four-beer flight. We then got pints and ate dinner off the food menu. Selections are limited, but we really enjoyed our chicken and sausage sandwiches. The Irish whiskey selection is carefully curated and comprehensive. I asked for a recommendation; the server brought over three bottles and took the time to give me a full description of each one. We might come back to Kilkenny just to go to this place again!Written 7 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenny COzawkie, KS226 contributionsWhat an excellent find! Trevor gave us an impromptu explanation of how the sheep are selected and graded, how the wool is harvested, carded, washed, spun, and woven through the mill and finally turned into beautiful high quality blankets, shawls, scarves, etc.
We were very impressed by this operation -- one of only two totally horizontal woolen mills (from wool to finished product) left in Ireland. They have very high quality and work with the sheep farmers to purchase directly from specific herds for their wool.
Once part of the Duiske Abbey grounds, built and operated by the Cistercian monks, now this mill is in the hands of the same family for many generations. They maintain their high quality by hands-on processes, no computerization.Written 26 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
