Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I highly recommend booking the tour. There is just way too much to try to take in without the live guided tour. We had our four young kids with us and the tour guide was very entertaining and gracious. The castle is in great shape. Don't forget the kid's playground nearby.

Had a fantastic tour given by Sinéad. She presented the property and history in a captivating and fun way and was happy to answer our questions. Much work has been done to restore and preserve the property and I very much appreciate a glimpse into the medieval history of Kilkenny. I learned several new things and even connected some dots to other tours in town. I highly recommend doing a tour of Rothe House.

We only went to The lady Helen restaurant.Sadly we were not staying there, From the second we entered, everyone was so pleasant, courteous and professional and friendly at the same time. We had the tasting menu.Although we’ve had many tasting experiences in a selection of Michelin star restaurants,in our opinion, this was certainly the best. It was a pleasant surprise to see the head chef,John Kelly, serving the most delicious veal,he spoke to every table. ,we were very impressed with him and he was so unpretentious and humble. There isn’t one single thing I could criticise, The staff really did make our night.Thank you to every single person.

what a great free tour! very informative and easy to get around, we saw signs for it outside and simply asked at the information desk to join before being handed over the headset by the helpful and friendly mall staff. takes just under an hour, would definitely recommend!

Stories make the building interesting. We passed by the building on our first walk, but returned after reading and hearing more stories about it.

It was a KCAT 3 artists' exhibition! I liked it a lot but I look forward to a gallery for Callan! Callan is a nice town!

I sadly wasn't able to enter it when I visited, but it surely looks interesting and is great for photos of Kilkenny!

The famine graveyard is down an old dirt road. There is a sign but it is now overgrown and neglected. The graveyard has no markers, no headstones, not even one name. But underfoot lie the remains of at least 3500 men, women, and children.

It's quiet and secluded and worth a visit to give a thought to those buried there long ago.

At first sight, it might not look like anything significant. Particularly since all but a tower remains of what was once a tower house of considerable historic importance. The fact that it has history, which includes it also having been a leper hospital, dedicated to a Saint, and located in a historical township, makes its apparent omission from most visitor information saddening and somehow disrespectful.

One of the last pieces of the old city walls stretching across the lane just off the main street in Kilkenny.

Medieval Wall is located in various locations, sometimes only marked on the sidewalk. An example is 12 Abby street near the Black Abbey.
