Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife was very interested on the gift shops displaying many items made be artisan crafts people on site. She bought a little book of inspirational sayings which she thought would prove useful.

Go and see the wonderful art on the walls here, there are always interesting exhibitions on. The owner Valerie has a great eye (I bought my first painting from her). Its a really lovely spot to spend time in. Its in a great part of town with some of the nicest cafes and bars nearby as well as Rothe House and Smithwicks brewery.

The centre was built on the site of the old workhouse and revealed the sad story of life during the famine as it was being constructed. During excavations hundreds of skeletons from that period 150 years ago were unearthed and the story put together. It was such a good idea to tell the stories of that period by establishing stations throughout the shopping centre. Particularly poignant is the small memorial graden at the back of the centre.
The shopping centre is quite large and has a range of shops found in most other centres and high streets.

Bought a beautiful Oak Beam recently for use as a mantle. Conor could not have been more helpful. He took the time to talk me through all my options and showed great knowledge, answering all my questions on installation and finishes. This place is a real gem. Highly recommend a visit but they are also online. Be sure to check them out … you’ll be glad you did!

I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this company. I purchased a product that I absolutely loved while I was in Ireland. A Few days later when I returned to the US I realized i had lost a stone. I sent an email to customer service and Julie responded immediately. Within days Julie had a replacement sent out. I honestly wish US stores would be as responsive. I am so impressed by their customer service. I highly recommend doing business with them. Thank you so much Julie for being so responsive so quickly.

Kilkenny Crystal is the place to go for beautifully crafted pieces. We ordered the Aran Decanter for Christmas and it is absolutely gorgeous!! The cobble stones and design is Ireland. They shipped it to us in the States quickly. We cannot wait to go back to Ireland and pick up more pieces. You must visit them. You will not be disappointed!!

I wanted to purchase a special piece of jewelry for our first trip to Ireland. I had seen reviews for Desmond Byrne and his silver shop in Kilkenny and knew I had to meet him. The Kilkenny Handwrought Silver shop is located across the street from the castle in the Kilkenny Design Center. My husband and I were delighted to meet Desmond. He was such a wonderful, kind man and talented artist. He taught us all about silver and explained how he creates his beautiful silver pieces. He would have created a custom ring for me but as we only had one day I chose a ring he had made a few months ago. It had a Book of Kells pattern. It is beautiful! I would highly recommend visiting Desmond on your next trip to Kilkenny!

At our hosts recommendation (Lawcus Farm), we stopped in here and were lucky enough to watch the glass blowing process. The pieces are beautiful. Definitely stop by!

Highly recommended! Amidst shocking rain, our excitement broken when met with unbelievable flooding and a CLOSED sign. However, Nicholas Mosse was out helping visitors! After a nice chat, he was insistent we would get to visit the shop and organised Stevie as a guide across an elevated ramp over deep flood waters to reach the factory entrance. ( How surreal to see boats tied up? )Inside we were welcomed, enjoyed tea and delicious baking whilst taking in the fabulous pottery displays and the ‘ beauty’ of the flooded grounds right outside the window. Hard to think this was where we parked our bikes the day before! The whole team was amazing, helpful, proud and knowledgeable regarding their precious stock! We felt privileged to browse in such peace and even my husband, who hates shopping, loved the experience ! Thanks to the super staff- so helpful! Such a fantastic display of beautiful pottery, you can really get lost in there. Shopping completed, we had a quick factory tour with Stevie which really helps to fully appreciate the delicate, artisan and creative processes involved in creating each unique piece- individual works of art. A fabulous visit with the unexpected twists, yes but we will be more than happy to visit in a ‘normal’ way on our next trip ! It is a special place and worth making the effort not to miss!

What an excellent find! Trevor gave us an impromptu explanation of how the sheep are selected and graded, how the wool is harvested, carded, washed, spun, and woven through the mill and finally turned into beautiful high quality blankets, shawls, scarves, etc.

We were very impressed by this operation -- one of only two totally horizontal woolen mills (from wool to finished product) left in Ireland. They have very high quality and work with the sheep farmers to purchase directly from specific herds for their wool.

Once part of the Duiske Abbey grounds, built and operated by the Cistercian monks, now this mill is in the hands of the same family for many generations. They maintain their high quality by hands-on processes, no computerization.

I actually visited in the end of December 2016 but i only found this page after suggesting it to a friend

I visited Kilkenny on a tour and had a short time to explore the town. It was a lovely town and Darcy's Treasure was my favourite store. I went with a girl i just met on the tour. I got a cool Dublin number plate to send to my dad in South Africa( he loves number plates ) and the friendly owner gave both the girl and i a free magnet and her a discount .
Friendly owner who is always ready to help , offer advice and is definitely a gem in Kilkenny

Cracking little sweet shop in the centre of town which I make a point of stopping in to every time i am here.

Kids loved it today and picked up lots of unusual goodies and my elder lad was even more impressed that he could grab a cheeky pack of Pokemon cards here too.

Just received a quality print of the Irish Grand Slam Six Nations 2018 Winners from the gallery and it is simply stunning. Great quality in terms of the printed surface and content and extremely well packaged and the service is excellent. The gallery is well worth a visit and the on-line site is easy to access and purchase from a quality product range.
