Absolutely beautiful castle smack dab in the middle of town! School kids , carrying their hurling sticks, came in drioves to practice on the castle grounds! Castle is restored, some sections newer than others but still interesting

Interesting tour with interactive displays and some basic explanation about the local ales. Not too long, not too tiring. Would definitely recommend.

We were pleasantly surpirsed by the high level of historical preservation, the excellent design, and the informative audio guide. If you are in Kilkenny, you really should make time for this museum. Highly recommended!

We stumbled upon this beautiful church while exploring Kilkenny on foot. What a lovely surprise! Beautiful gardens with ancient grave stones, historic church, and a tower with an incredible view of this wonderful little town.

It might be the fact that it was raining a lot outside and kinda dark, but it didn't seem like anything impressive. The cathedral we saw right before it was better overall. It's a charming spot still, and the stained glass were great.

A beautiful place to visit with walks around the grounds. The story board trail (Elephant and Owl) are a nice touch for younger children. The staff in the tea room were lovely and th e tea and cakes tasty and the setting fab.

If you go to Ireland, then go to Kilkenny-and if you go to Kilkenny, then do it all! This was pretty much what you'd expect. Old house with cool history, good stories and interesting facts. We had a small tour and had a good time. I think you can walk it without the tour, but I'd go ahead a pay the extra.

We had so much fun with Peter and others who signed up to learn the Kilkenny Way! So much fun in fact, we ordered hurleys and Sliotars for our entire family from the Hurling Depot!
Totally worth it (even after arriving late the night before from a long a drive)! Lanigans was great too and easily accommodated our daughter's peanut allergy.

    Thanks, Peter, Andrew and PJ!

Beautiful site. Took a peaceful stroll around the cloister. The carvings on the mensa tombs and cloister arcades are well worth seeing.

Jerpoint Park easily became a group favourite on our Ireland trip!

Maeve was quick to reply about bookings and we got in for a private tour of the medieval town as well as a sheepdog demonstration, all very affordable at €15/person. It was just our group when we got there but a tour bus showed up as we were leaving, so call ahead of time to really get that private experience.

I was pleasantly surprised at how elaborate the tour was; covering the settlement history of the area, archaeological finds, architectural design of the ruins, and not to mention some notable names in the graveyard - including St. Nicholas (yes, Santa!)

The owner, Joe, is kind, knowledgeable and entertaining. His tour was especially enjoyable as his passion for this unique history shows.

If you’re looking to explore remnants of Ireland’s past in the beautiful countryside while hearing stories from a local, seriously don’t miss visiting Jerpoint Park. The sheepdog was also very cute haha ❤️

Well kept Cathedral that is worth seeing, if even just as a pitstop while walking around the city. I wouldn't go there to see that specifically, but it's good for what it is.

It was great to visit this atmospheric institution, not only for the plentiful information available but also because of its lengthy history.

Established in the late 1500s for the indigent and destitute of the city, a service it continued to provide until the early 1800s.

By the way, the staff told us that the Information Office is imminently relocating to new premises. They didn’t know what role this evocative building will have in the future.

It's a small entry off the street and quite narrow in the old part of the city. Thankfully it is in a touristy part so lots if people will see it and get a feeling of what life in medieval times might have been like.

We enjoyed a late morning ride on the Kilkenny Road Train. The stop was outside the Castle so just a short walk from our hotel. The train runs approximately every half an hour starting at 9.30am The ride lasts about 30 minutes and takes in the main sites of Kilkenny. While travelling along a running commentary gives information. In between Irish music was played which was lovely! A very enjoyable way to see Kilkenny!
